Bush hogging 7-8 ft wild brush/trees with Kioti NX6010 and Bush hog BH26

I cut about 25 ac yesterday that had not been cut in a couple years, I actually had to turn the A/C temp a bit cooler than I normally run it still only about halfway on the cold side. . Only had to stop once to use the leaf blower to blow the radiator and screen clean.

Interesting video, I have mowed stuff like that on our old open station tractors, but that was years ago, now I only do it with our cab tractors. I have a hydraulic top link and when backing into stuff like that, I often tilt the back of the cutter up then drop it back down going forward. I finally broke down and bought a tree puller this year for the type of small trees you have on the sides.

Yes, I've learned the hard way to do this and not back into brush like that with the hog all the way lowered down. What you can't see is that fence post, previous stump, solid tree trunk, rock, etc.. that will fold the sheet metal lip of your brush hog right into the spinning blades.
Man, than makes an awful racket!!

I have to remind myself: it's a bush hog, not a bulldozer!

TripleR, what kind of tree puller did you go with? Do you first still push the trees over to loosen the root ball like Kap?

I got a Titan, couldn't afford anything else, we have a welder to add reinforcement or fix breaks if needed.

We are still in the learning process, but yes, unless it is small, we push to loosen.

I like to use my B7200 for the extreme punishment. This picture is mild for what I do to it. It isn't big enough to bend up the bush hog, and the whole tractor is a lot cheaper when I tear it up. That little tractor is tougher than nails. I haven't managed to tear it up.

I was just clearing my back 40 yesterday and today. I have Chinas finest Farmforce 5'. All the power but built like a beer can. It works but I don't do much backing up. I don't want to weld that much in the heat. When I do the thick unknown stuff I just go straight forward with the bucket held very low to "find " anything big hiding in there. It seems to work most of the time. Slow is the name of the game and I sometimes cut it high and come back to finish it off with the next pass. Then I vow once again. "Idiot, don't let the stuff grow up like that again.
This year I am marking the big holes where I pushed over trees many moons ago. One by one I am going to fill em up with rocks and fill until it is at least relatively smooth.

Dang Eric, that sucks! for the life of me I simply can't understand why manufacturers have not at least offered optional skid plates and underbody guards.... What do they think we do with these things anyway???? Hay rides???

I'm convinced that our OEM thinks we're all hobby farmers when in point of fact everyone of us clears land, levels the land, plants trees and then maybe hobby farming. I'm still in the land clearing stage.

Yes, I know that I 'should' lift the rear of the deck, but since that was really the only rough area, I didn't feel like manually raising it with the top 3 pt arm... Gotta get me one of those top n tilt deals!! I already have several dents in the back end but none too close to the blade yet... Yet another testing suggestion to manufacturers.... Hey, go out and actually test it doing more than hay fields!! How nice it would be with a real thick steel lip on the back that you could use to push loose hazards without bending it.... Oh, same thing goes for a power tiller... Put some reinforcement on the rear lid door to push in reverse.. Dah, am I the only one that thinks this way????

Interesting, one member told me that I should try mowing without the loader. I'm sure its a nicer ride, but when I find holes while I'm mowing I will skim some dirt from a nearby high spot and fill in the holes immediately. That way I don't keep having 'groundhog day' re-finding them each time I cut!! I can't remember what I did yesterday let alone where each hole is from 2 months ago :0.
