Edge Tamers on my gravel drive

typo on my part about the extenders.

No crown (worth talking about) on my tractor. They aren't going by bucket size but here is what they have:
Tractor to 24-30 hp: two 4″ units
Tractor to 30-38 hp: three 4″ units

Mine is only a 32hp but since I'm only pushing snow and not much of a crown, I wonder if I can get away with two 4" tamers.

I think you'll be fine with two...the third center one would only help if you had a crowned drive which you don't.

Of course you can always order 2 and if that does not work order a 3rd.

The current edge tamers won't fit my skid steer bucket with a bolt on edge. E-mailed them some time ago and they told they would be adding a 6" size to the website. Well, every e-mail after that goes unanswered and they still havn't listed the 6". Winter is pretty much here so I guess I can't wait any longer and just need to build a set myself.

I'm happy I saw this thread! I ordered three 3" Edge Tamers and two of the extenders. It seems that every year some of my gravel drive ends up across the street in my neighbors field. I do need to make sure I've smoothed my gravel before we get any snow.

I mainly ordered mine for the fact that we just built a barn. There is no driveway yet to the barn. The wife will be out there every day tending to the horses. So I will need to plow a path for her so she does not have to walk through a 5 foot drift. I can just imagine how much I would tear up the grass with out these.

I have a high crown on my driveway. Looks like I should order a third for the middle of the bucket.

Or break out the landscape rake and flatten out the road

What did the fabricator quote you for cost?

LOL, I have a similar sketch on my desk as we speak.

Rather than farming out bending I cut about 1/2 way thru and hammer the bend in my vice and then weld the cut closed.
I have done this on even 1/2" flat stock and it works just fine.
