For as precise as electrical work is I've always been surprised by the variations in voltage listings. I know three, 110V, 115V, 120V. All the same thing. Also know 220V and 240V. What the??????
Modern systems in the U.S. are 120/240. There are likely some old industrial areas that are 115/230. Iirc, 220/110 was the old 2 phase system that's been obsolete for 60+ years.

Some foreign systems are 110/220 50hz so you may see some modern devices labeled that way.

I think you and I grew up on 110 volts, now voltage has increased to 120 volt, someone change their mind somewhere along the line.

Thank you. What's odd to me is that is says A.C.-D.C..

That's not odd, what's odd is I didn't notice that till you brought it up, I had to go back and look at that tag again. I think the suspect was wearing a blue hat, checked shirt, blue jeans, high heels and driving a kabota B6100 :pinkpanther:........

Does the voltage new and old have to do with delta and wye transformer wiring?

I know there are a lot of old ways of doing three phase that people don't generally use anymore. One of them being the old 3 phase with a high leg.

Odd to me, I've never seen someone go from AC then move the cord to DC. Blue jeans and b6100 is accurate enough, is kabota a Chinese knockoff? :D

At the Hospital all the regular outlets come in at 124.5 volts... it was designed this way...

Up at the cabin the voltage is sometimes 108 volts.

Delta and Wye generally only effect 3 phase systems. On 240v systems where there is delta transformer you have 240 between any 2 passes but if it's got 120v you only have 120v from 2 legs to ground the third leg is a high leg and not used to ground. Wye systems you have 120v to ground on all legs but phase to phase is only 208v.

Often Wye systems are used for commercial services where you have a lot of 120v loads and delta is used in industrial facilities where you have more 240v loads.

Daisy chain ten 12v batts, and you can run any of those small ac-dc motors... How long depends on how big the batts are.

I "think" they run on both ac-dc because they are brush motors.

Yeah, and for what purpose? :)

Higher voltage is more efficient. And you can get more power for a given amperage. (Or equal power at less amps)

First electric systems were 110V. 115V came in the 1930's. 120V became standard in 1984.

Is the power system in the US technically 110, 115, or 120VAC?- Quora

Bruce

Boy I could go off on a lot of rabbit trails here from some of these post, I wont cause someone will get upset and spill their tea, I'll just go on a couple trails, like that post was a good 110 theory of relativity.

"Since our electric system originally supplied 110 volts that value became embedded in people's minds and a lot of people still refer to our system as 110/220. Since we used 115 volts for about 50 years a lot of people have that in their minds and still refer to our system as 115/230. But those days are long past. The U.S. is now 120/240 volts."<<<<<I've been embedded, oh no............

So it wasn't you that dropped their suitcase with 200k in it, must of been someone else with high heels...................

I noticed for a while now when kabota is spelt right the name is a highlighted link so when someone clicks on it, they go to their website and go ooooooooooh haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa at a tractor going around the barnyard with a bale of hay in the bucket and go WOW that must be a hard working tractor, they get so excited they spill their tea, run out the door go down the dealer and buy one of those Kabota tractors, and they make all kinds of $$$ which is fine but I'll only give free advertising for a company that will go the extra mile for me and they didn't, and neither did Sears 7 years ago, I'm still upset with them.

Gezz it takes a long time to type a post and be somewhat politically correct so no one spills their tea..............

It's just inflation.

my mom bought me some craftsman tools when I was about 10 years old and I still have some of them 49 years later. I have bought many tools over the years most of them being craftsman and have returned a few for replacement but considering the abuse I put them through I don't have a problem with craftsman and I'll take all your broken craftsman tools you would like to send me. ;)
