JD 4300 price check and what to look for

Hi,

I'm going to be looking at a 4300 tonight. 1999 model year, 2500 hours, MFWD, rear and mid hydro, HST drive with cruise, 420 FEL.

Anything to look out for?
$13,500 is his asking price; seems a little steep for that many hours.
Has turf tires; anyone know ballpark cost to get Ag tires?

Finally upgrading from by Bolens G152, which will be for sale shortly...

The 420 FEL is the smaller of two originally offered, the other being the 430. Mid pro, turf tires and hydro were all options. Hours not bad IF maintained.

For those hours, and the 420 FEL, I'd think $10k... not $13.5k

But don't know where "Big Lake" is located, so may not apply.

But I think the 4300 is a rock solid tractor that is "classic" in the lineup.. pre-electronics is a plus IMO

Yeah, after inspection it is a $10k tractor at best, which is what I offered. Seller was “not in a hurry to sell” therefore I was in no hurry to buy.

FWIW I've had a 4300 since 2002 and have had very few problems with it so recommend it.

Anyone know where to get tires for the JD 4300 I have 355/80D 20 and need to find a good used pair not wanting to spend $800-900 per tire

Recently got a pair of front R4 tires from JD dealer for $150 per tire. Guess he could also get rears? :confused3:

Trying to avoid buying new... The fronts I have found for $133 each but the cheapest I have found the rears for are $850 each...
