I had a couple of fairly long curly shards of metal on my screen when I cleaned it the first time. After that, not so much.

I think the screen mostly catches those production metal bits and the filters (Kubota only filters and Hyd fluid for me) do most of the cleaning thereafter. If something breaks then the screen will probably do some filtering of metal. Not sure the owners manual says to even check it after the first time?

Sun shining some in Ky and temp in the 70s now:confused3:1 so that get the tractor/mower out is upon us. I got my F3080 out a couple days ago to mow a lot across the street that I sold a man and had told him I'd do the first mowing on it thinking I had a couple of months lee way but he got out cleaning it up, grass is growing and weather is warm. Anyway, if one hasn't done their service on their tractor it could be a great time to get it done and do it yourself if at all possible. Easy peasy job and helps one learn the basics of their machine and can save a bundle of cash.

For the person questioning their 50 hour service on their BX1880 and what's required, recommended by Kubota.

Cold weather has finally hit Ky and sure other states so now is the time for service that you didn't do when work was being done. Many people have read/viewed this thread and most appreciated it. If it helps then glad I posted it. If it ruins your day then move on and read some other posts. :)

I and maybe a few others forget over time something remembered in the past which is happening more frequently now than in my past. I like to have info available to verify what I think I sometimes know.:)

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn,t find any info about it.
I,m ready to change the UDT fluid to sudt 2 in my BX 2370. How does one get the old fluid out of the loader cylinders and the new stuff in there, without mixing the old with the new ?

One does not unless one is very posterially retentive

You could break lines loose, in-pin an end of the ram and manually compress it to push out the pint or quart of contained fluid. But I do not think that most "normal" people would do that or worry about it.

But if you so desire, you can make it into one heck of a fun project! Have at it!
