Dennis, thanks for your post. Xfax, coobie, please do post your set ups and impressions.

I think I will get one for my driveway to augment my security camera system.
The wife and I installed Guardline (500 model with 2 sensors) up 2 days ago_Our driveway is about 300 ft.long.Set the 1st sensor at 275ft.works perfect at this distance. The second sensor is by our barns about 200 ft.from the base unit in our house.Worked perfect also. The setup was easy about 10 minutes. So far my impression I like the unit hopefully it we be dependable & stands up to Michigans cold/snowy winters.

Just curious if you have a direct line of sight from the transmitters to the receiver in the home?

As noted, my original 500' model wouldn't work right around the 400' mark with pretty much a direct line of sight to the front door (couple trees here and there), however, when we had two or more cars parked in front of the house, the signal wouldn't work.

With the 1/4 mile model, absolutely no issues now.

Here is a picture of my furthest sensor, which is completely blocked by trees. That orange post is 750 feet from the house, (as much hose that is on the fire truck). You can not see the house in winter and there is no problem getting the signal even in the summer with all the foliage.

My neighbor has the Mighty Mule one that is buried and has the same problem as others on here. His kids drive fast enough that it does not set it off. I do not want to depend on the people doing home invasions, burglaries or murders to go slow enough to trip it, so I went with the Guardline.

Yes sir pretty much a straight line of sight with few pine trees, no hills or curves. We do have both cars parked in our two car attached garage.Pic is from house up driveway.

Is the receiver by a land line remote phone? (can cause interference per what their tech told me).

Does the other sensor still work that is 200' away? (thought you had two, driveway at 300' and barn at 200'),

Are cars blocking the line of site between transmitter and reciever? With mine, didn't have a issue when there was only one car in the driveway, once there was more than one, it was a hit or miss as the cars were pretty much right in front of the house in the line of sight between the two. 1/4 mile model eliminated that issue.

I just ordered one, so hope it will transmit the 1/2 mile rated distance

If it doesn't it will be easy to move it closer until it works

Please let us know what you think of it. I'm holding off on buying it until I read what you have to say.

It is at the post office now, should be delivered tomorrow.

I will post how well it works.
It came on the24th, but due to holiday plans, haven't even unboxed it yet.
Got it unboxed and tested from downstairs, outside through the metal siding at one end of the house, to the receiver upstairs at the other end of the house.

It worked . Range testing will have to wait till it quits raining :(. Got just over 2-1/4 inches so far.

No landline close by.#2 sensor works fine at 200 ft.Might try the 1/4 mile unit.

What doesn't make any sense is the 200' away sensor works but you have to move the 300' sensor to 100'. My first thought is vehicles in the driveway are causing the problem per the "line of sight" with the 300' sensor.

I honestly do think it may be in Guardians best interest to only sell the 1/4 mile unit and not the 500' "just in case" if that makes any sense.

I agree weird. The car/truck are parked in the same place for the last 2 days since the install nothing has changed. Now weak signal to base unit.Go figure?Might consider the 1/4 mile unit down the road. Not sure yet.
