No, but it's often easier to obtain it without character. Robbing someone would be one way, and there are a myriad of ways to do that.

ahhhhh
seems to speak loudly about someones character or lack thereof.......

It's all squares on pallets. You can get it either way. The pallets are for people that dont have the machinery to move the big rolls.
Mine was like 4 or 6' rolls. Not the huge machinery ones. Either way, insta-yard is awesome.

It sure is. Never have been able to justify the cost though. If I ever did, I would try and get it cheap, sometimes available. Most of the stuff you plant, dies anyway, as just quick cover, so it's a while before you get a real lawn.

Its el Toro zoysia.

Not enough sun for Bermuda, I would plant Bermuda seeds. Hate overseeding fescue. I like grass that spreads by itself.

It's taken well. I want to do the entire front yard sooner or later. Thinking about laying the squares in a checkerboard pattern and letting it fill in. I have noticed it doesn't "grow in" or spread until the second year. But this variety is very aggressive after it gets going. 20180807_181203_1533684703797.jpeg

I do have alot of time invested laying, watering, mowing, fertilizing, spraying weeds, etc but I enjoy it. Biggest pain is it has to be bagged. If I leave clippings or mulch, it gets a fungus that kills it. It goes for $125 a pallet.

It's a joke, but character isn't worth much anyway these days it seems. People prefer to be lied to.

ahh I guess I didnt read funny into it........
Without character, a person does not have much!

Hmmm... not to take any sides here but I will say it seems to be is getting more difficult to joke and kid... or speak the truth as one sees it. The PC world we live in is becoming more unforgiving and prejudiced. Just the opposite I think we all wish for. :confused3:

I pride myself on telling the truth, although that is probably the way I see it. If I tell a customer, I will try and fix something, that is the truth. Or that I don't have a clue what's wrong. That is the truth. But people don't like that. They sooner some liar shows up, clueless, and says everything is under control, don't worry! lol

Ha... I am trying to wean myself off of that forum. Not nearly enough substantive debate and too many personal attacks and insults. I like to kid around but I hate childish behavior.

Wow and aren't I getting off topic. Back to original programming!

I try not to listen to politicians. Back to ladders on the Highway.....

since many companies put a property identification of some type on their tools and equipment, does the highway department contact these ladder owners and give them a bollocksing for creating a hazard through negligence, if they can?
I doubt it. I was initially hired by CalTrans as a Management Auditor, sent out to do studies in the field to document the procedures in place that maintain conformance with standards, prevent fraud, etc. (California state government is surprisingly clean). I never heard of CalTrans or more likely CHP going after a motorist unless loss of state property was substantial and the motorist's insurance would pay for it - replacing a guardrail etc. The 'creating a traffic hazard' aspect would be a CHP issue but I doubt they would start an investigation so long as the debris hadn't caused a traffic accident. CHP might document what they found, in case a crashed motorist's insurance wanted that record to attempt recovery from the ladder owner.

But in general, no. The field maintenance guys just want to keep traffic moving.

Ladders -

I learned a lesson, one that could have turned out badly, about tie-ing down properly.

I packed an 8 foot step ladder in the back of my truck along the side, wedged in amongst other stuff and below the lip of the bed.
That's secure, right?

Well, not so much. tooling down a busy divided hwy about 60, I looked back in time to see the ladder lift out, up in the air, and down to the hwy.
Fortunately, no cars close behind me, and, the ladder skidded along the road onto the right side shoulder. God loves fools and babies.

People at Lowes probably wonder why I seem to go to great lengths to tie down everything now.
