So your planning to make the front axle the steer axle? Thanks for the reply! Mine looks identical to yours in that pic but with only 2wd setup. I will be building a new frame. Kubota style with all of the appropriate gussets and such to mount everything including my Toro Wheelhorse 520h sheet metal (Obviously with some modifications where needed).
What is the tire size? How are you going to get the driveshaft speed and rotation right?I have a Kubota BX 2200 front 4x4 axle and wheels that are in great condition that will be part of the build that is driveshaft driven.
No conversion kits available that I know of. Lots of parts for sale on ebay.So I wasn't sure if there was a 4x4 conversion kit for the current model I have (93 325D Groundsmaster) that I could adapt into the build. Are there actual kits based off of certain models for this type of conversion or am IK looking at a parts swap or trans rebuild of sorts?
Thanks.
Yes to get a driveshaft outputSo I would need a 4x4 Front Axle from a 325D or similar 4x4?
NoDO you have a drawing of the 4x4 version of the drive train?
There is only a driveshaft. It attaches to the front axle and runs back under the hydraulic motor/transmission.Without being able to see a 4x4 in person, it's hard to determine where the trans and driveshaft for the rear steering axle bolt to the axle from diagrams.

Look for TORO Commercial dealers in your area. There are a lot of online sellers also.Okay. Will do. Where would be a good place to get the parts that I need? Any suggestions? I'm okay good used parts as well.

Right, But I'm concerned that the seal might not fit where the cap is on your housing, since the 4x4 housing is a different part number.Looks like other than the Pinion Shaft (#8) I will need #20-#23 which will be the Oil Seal, Flange, Washer and Nut... Then obviously a drive shaft and whatever mounts/ bearing is that has them. But these parts above will yield 4x4 PTO...
Just to clarify... That Flange is what couples the internal pinion and the exterior 4x4 drive shaft with use of that large washer and nut as well as the bolts that are driven into the flange from the drive shaft? Sound about right?
That is because it is matched to the ring gear and is sold as a pair. Also, I'm checking and it seems most of the 4x4 if not all don't have a part number for the pinion shaft from the 4x4 assembly?

eBay in my first check for used parts.

Also you didn't mention #24, the shims, so I don't think you have ever setup a ring and pinion or have the tools to do it. Although probably not as critical on this low speed differential.

No , it isn't "the shim". Look at the parts list again. There are several thicknesses.------------------------------------------------------
No, I have never set up a ring and pinion gear. So if I also include the shim from a 4x4 axle that would be ideal. correct?
Yes.Or will that need to be a test and fit type of situation?

It would be nice if I could find someone in the area that would be willing to trade my 2x4 axle with a little chash for their 4x4 axle. That would make this a lot easier. But I like learning.
