That's what they want. Can you imagine if Bill Clinton had said "Everybody is going to be fitted with a device so that we know everyplace that you go. Furthermore, everybody will be required to check in at the end of the day and tell what you have done." His impeachment would have been real, and for a good reason. Instead we have phones with GPS tracking capabilities; and when I was on FB it was unbelievable the thigns that I was seeing. My cousin posted pictures of her husbands sawmill, tractor, and other toys; then would post "We're in Bar Harbor for the weekend." Heck, why not leave the front door open and a big welcome sign saying "Thieves take notice, we aren't home."

Tin foil for sale.....

I suspect some posters have a garage full of tin foil already.

Why are people so paranoid and fearful of change and the future?

im not afraid of change/future but i work in that technology and i know what the plans are for selling all of the data they will capture - they will be able to know when we go to teh store, when we left teh store, what we drove, what we bought and how fast we used it before we bought our next......the route we took going and coming and when they enable the driverless car they will dictate what route we take. i do not want that kind of control over us all, it will come at a dear price and NO im not kidding

Most of that is already done, if you use google maps. They know where i work, where i live, route i take, stores i go to. This is old and existing, not future. Be afraid of the google, not big brother.

I see both sides. I think the good outweighs the bad.

Well heck today was the first time I looked at this thread, I read 18 out of the 23 pages it shows for me.

For what it's worth I've had pickups most of my life, Chevys, GM, Dodge, Ford, IH and now a RAM.
I've had many gas engines and a few diesels.

Overall I prefer a diesel simply for the engine characteristics, low rpm torque and hp peak lower in the rpm band then gas engines.
My current pickup is a RAM 1500 with the 3.0 Eco Diesel, I like how this little engine pulls and runs.
Did it make economical sense to buy a diesel, when you factor in the higher cost of the engine and higher cost fuel and higher cost oil changes and every thing,
maybe not but I'm glad I purchased it, engine wise.

I've never driven a pickup that averaged well over 20 mpg almost constantly,
my next best was an old 6.5 Chey, and my best in gassers was my 02 Dakota with the 4.7 and a 5 speed which was a solid constituent 16 mpg pickup.

I hear about all these people getting great fuel mileage, but I know that anymore I don't drive aggressively or rapidly so my mileage should be higher then many, oh well it is what it is.

As far as these big high GVW pickups and high GVW trailers in some places that will come up and bite hard.
A cattle hauler that hauls often for the farm had a combined GVW of a bit over 26,000 and went thru an inspection and weigh station empty, they made him drop his trailer and leave it, he had to come back with his older pickup to get the trailer. And what makes it even more ridiculous was if he had been loaded heavy on the trailer with his old pickup even weighing over 26,000 it would have been just an over weight ticket and he could have kept on going.

My little half ton, gets worked once in awhile, best tank of fuel was 28mpg, worst was 18 mpg, better the 22mpg for 70,000 miles.

Nice looking truck. One thing I would seriously consider springing for is the alloy wheels, if I could get them without all of the other garbage in a package. I never really thought much about them until my Ranger came with them. They don't fill up with mud, ice, and crap the way that steel wheels do so I don't need to pull over and scrape out the rims... sometimes pulling the wheel to do so.
