Why buy one?

I use mine for hauling tools and pulling the wood splitter plus riding around. As for hauling anything it’s ridiculous. That’s what my dump truck is for.

That’s exactly what our Mule looks like and I regret not buying one sooner.
I do pull a small trailer now and then.

People are funny. The one person that has given me a hard time over buying the side by side has a $45K pontoon boat he is making payments on that goes into the water at least twice per year. Our SxS gets used almost every day.

Excellent comparison. I was just thinking how many people have a pontoon boat, speed boat, and a fishing boat at the lakes? Many. Different machine for different tasks. Then I came across your post.

I like that style of MULE as my lady friend can drive me around and I at six feet can stretch out my legs, Rum and Pepsi in hand. When it spills, I must remind her that the DRIVER is RESPONSIBLE for their load! lol

I'd love to have one, even with much, much less property than many of you have. My little tractor does a lot of things, but it moves slow since I have to stay in Low due to my hills. My two mowers will pull a small trailer, but not much of a load. My property isn't suited for driving even a small Ranger or S-10 type pickup around.

One of these would be perfect for carrying tools, filled sprayers, etc. around, but there's NO way I'm paying $5K or so for a glorified go kart. I didn't pay that for one of my current cars, and barely over that for the other. If I could find one in the 1,000 to 1,500 range, I'd probably have it.

On a budget a well used Golf cart works pretty well, other than deep snow.

We get by with an old Cushman "Golfster" gas powered cart.

I heard that most Golf courses have axed gas powered carts leading to a lot of them available on the used market.

Side by sides are really nice and the 4x4 would be great to- but even well used they seem to sell for a whole lot more than used golf carts.

My Mule isn't worth a crap in any snow more than 4 inches. I put bigger tires on it and a lift kit, and maybe it's good for 6" tops! TOTAL waste of money and I believe I am compromising the drivetrain by having done so. I have pulled that thing out of meager snow conditions more than any vehicle I have ever owned!

I have a tractor,pick-up ,side by side and an atv;they all have their uses.I wouldn't take my $40,000 pick-up where my $12,000 side by side can go.I have an old (1998) Kawasaki atv that I use almost daily. My Yamaha Viking is my off road work machine;1200 miles and it's a 2016 model.

Would love to see pictures of this!

I posted pix of my Samurai dumptruck years ago when I built it. I have used it many times to haul dirt/mud, nearly a ton at a time. My property always has mudslide issues and creek flooding in the winter. The Sami is tough to turn around, however. The 4x4 drive works great, and the whole machine has less than $1000 in it.

I am all for the right tool for the right job. My jobs are often different than those other folks have. One friend just loves his electric golf cart to get around his 5 acres, on or off pavement. I like to get around in a 4x4 ATV with tools, but it sucks on pavement. I have both pavement and dirt on my 19 acres. My 2WD ATV (with differential) was great on pavement, but it could not get up some of my trails, and it tears up the ground when it loses traction. I just sold it, and bought a newish ATV to arrive this weekend. It has nearly all the new features, and I am looking forward to it also replacing my 4x4 Honda.
