Right, "every possible anode, cathode and electrolyte combination has been tried." Uh huh. Clearly we should close the patent office because everything has already been invented already: Tracing the Quote: Everything that can be Invented has been Invented | Patently-O

In a dumb simple world there would be no need to search for anything beyond pure iron. All other elements are known.

Nothing will ever be better. But then some upstart mixes carbon with iron and creates steel. Others add nickel and create stainless steel. Good thing they didn't listen to buickanddeere.

You still don’t want to understand and would rather cling to fairy tales .
Do tell us why there are no alloys of metal that maintain strength at 4000F . The inconel and Hastelloy alloys are
Not any better than they were in WWII. Do tell us why gas turbine manufactures have not found a superior metal ? Have they tried all the blends ?
For what ever reasons the differences between refining old technology and inventing new technology.

Environmentalists in particular need to understand this reality . Hype cycle - Wikipedia

and this is a quesyion for those that do know. how long does it take to recharge a tesla car at their recharging stations around the country...not the home base unit? Just wondering as i have no idea. If your traveling past the 200 of so mile range, how long does it take to recharge for another 200 mile stretch?

This is an old plot, before the Model 3, even before 100 kWh batteries. Model 3 charges at least twice as fast. Superchargers currently bing installed are capable of sourcing 250 kW. Only newer Model 3s can use that rate. The Superchargers used to produce this plot were limited to 120 kW. Home connectors (are not chargers, are only fancy extension cords, the charger is built into the car) typically range from 7.6 to 17.2 kW.

Note that one can charge the first 100 miles into the battery twice as fast as the 2nd 100 so adding 200 miles to the battery takes 3X as long as just 100. Most Superchargers are spaced just over 100 miles because the fastest way from here to there is more short stops.

By golly I didn’t know jet engines of today are no better than those of 50 years ago! That turbine materials have not improved!

All the “environmentalists” I know are as delusional as you.

Emphasizing battery energy per lb is a red herring, a detour down a rabbithole. 'But we can't let go of the past!'

There's no reason why EV's with their batteries can't weigh considerably more than ICE cars, in fact most do. So What?

It's a new world continually evolving and some of the old 'everyone knows' are being superseded.

Almost got sideswiped by a musk mobile this morning. It was doing well over 80 mph. Don’t they put lane control in those things?

Ron Baron: Tesla Worth $1T By 2:( 💫📈💸 - YouTube

Ron Barrow's view on Telsa being worth $1 trillion by 2030 and why has me wondering if there any current car maker that can catch them. Google and Amazon may catch Telsa. It seems like car makers with dealerships and tooling for ICE based vehicles may not make the jump to EV's successfully perhaps.

If reducing weight was not a vital method of improving fuel efficiency . Vehicle manufactures would not be making body panels and engines out of aluminum.
Have you considered the energy storage room or volume required by all those extra battery packs ? Only 250-700 watt hours per cubic litre .
I am keeping in mind how important the religion of green is to you and how important looking and sounding holy is to you . Thus the attempt to use facts and figures rather than feelings and emotions .

Do you believe that everyone is going to go out there and purchase a more expensive vehicle with less range and a longer recharge/refill time than an ICE ?
The EV is a niche market that requires subsidies and legislation to force sales of the vehicles . EV sales to Toy collectors and environmental zealots is not enough market share to be worthwhile or sustainable. .

What is wrong with you? You are protesting against an imagined stereotype that haunts you then loudly painting that stereotype onto anyone with different conclusions.

I read your posts hoping to learn something new - but it's mixed with 60% unreasonable resistance to change plus a broad swipe of criticism of others. Why add the resistance and criticism, your facts should stand on their own merits.
