Thanks, dnw64! Indeed I was endorsing deezler's credentials to remind others.
I was also thinking extra credit for his hot rodding background and context to help him explain stuff to those of us who haven't had the lab experience. His kind of work could not be more scientific, although it can include cleaning up messes resulting from catastrophic failure, replacing sensors and other things connected.
Yeah, I'm kind of a dude for 70. (AKA "old Dude"):laughing: We had a liaison guy from our toolroom that worked with the test mechanics and I visited a test cell with him. While Buick didn't use the 3.4L DOHC examples did see time in our cells in the early '90s. Mark spent almost a year working with the group and was only relieved of the association when GM decided to dump the troublesome version for the simpler OHV 3.4.
