Yup, my old car hauler trailer was a triple 7k rated at 21k.
My 10t is rated for almost 6k tongue weight (2 10k axles and rated for 20k lbs cargo capacity, trailer weight is about 6k)

My dump trailer has 2 6k axles and is rated at 16,800lbs gross.

What you are looking for is similar to what I want except I need a tag trailer. I want a 18ftx102in wide deckover dump with fold down or removable sides, oil bath 8 or 10k axles with 17.5 tires.
So far i haven't found anyone that makes that combination.
I think what we want would have to be custom, maybe I'll make one some day, maybe even make it a rollback style!

Best Choice trailers has (2) 18 foot x 102 inch deck over dumps with (2) 8k axles but 16” 14 ply tires. Rated at 16,000lbs.

2) 6k axles with a 16,800 rating seems a little crazy high, but I also think a 2) 8k axles at 16,000 rating is too low. Everyone knows a decent amount of weight, usually 10-20% is carried by the truck.

On the trailer shopping front:
I found a Sure Trac 16ft x 102” deck over, fold down sides, 17.5” rims and tires, 16,000GVWR trailer for a good price. It has an 11,000lb payload which is less than I wanted, but it doesn’t include any tongue weight. Add tongue weight and it really has more like a 13,000lb payload. Has an oversized scissor hoist, dual 12k jacks, a very handy tray under the bed with a spare tire/wheel and corner stabilizing jacks.
I may move on it, but I’m comprising on my original 6-7 ton payload.

Wow I don't think those were available a few years ago when I was looking last. They aren't even that expensive really.
Does that model have oil bath hubs? that's the one thing I don't see offered on a lot but maybe they offer an upgrade.

I wouldn't hesitate to load to 6t or a little more with tongue weight.

Re: Building an 8 to 16 foot gooseneck dump trailer

The only thing I don't like about that one is that the spare tire is underneath the bed. If you have a flat tire with a full load on you're going to be in a world of hurt.

Pick the bed up. I like it, I can't lift my 17.5" spare up on the gooseneck, I have to use my loader, they are 100+ lbs. Then try and walk around on the gooseneck frame, scary dangerous. I see it has bolt on jacks, nice. Mine are/were all weld on and inside the tool box, poor design. I see it has a 12" gooseneck riser but maybe only 8" horizontal? Kind of hard to tell in the picture. If it is 10" that's fine. Again, hard to tell in the picture but it appears to use a light duty scissors frame and only one tail gate cam lock. Sorry about the armchair quarter backing, Lol Over all looks good.

Note the channel frame v/s the tube frame in the pictures.

The hydraulic cylinder in the 16 footer is a 6x15. Heres a few more pics
Dealer says 16 footer has a few more reinforcements. You talking tube main/bed frame? Sure Trac claims it has a tube main frame.
Hoist looks like channel.
I dont have to really risk ordering anything because its coming in as a stock order. If there’s something I dont like, I can buy something else. Got a price on a Diamond C with 10k axles:
20,800 with hydraulic jacks + tax
19,000 without hydraulic jacks + tax
Can’t afford that. Going to keep looking for a triple 8, but may settle for a double 8.

You talking tube main/bed frame?

No, I was talking about the hoist frame. When the hoist is collapsed, the cylinder is pushing horizontal against the hinge pin that's attached to the channel scissors frame, huge power there until it starts up. It wants to push the pin right out the end of the channel and will over time if you use it commercial like I do. 10K miles on my new PJ and only 5 months old. This is mostly short hauls so a lot of dumps.

Yes, I noticed the tube main frame and even doubled in front of the front axle, that's a good frame, strong and light. It also appears that the axle u-bolts straddle the frame so that helps too. It gives more clearance. The u-bolts are what hit first on my Lamar I-beam frame, the flange is wide. Some day as the steel ages and gets brittle it will crack, then ya got a repair to do.

For a homeowner that only use their trailers once in a while it is mostly a non issue but for me it is serious. Spring suspended axles all make contact with the main frame at some point some more than others, especially off highway use.

Ah nice, I was looking at the tag trailers and must have missed that one. I like how they have the larger 3 3/8 brake azles also.

Without seeing the build quality, 13k isn't bad for them. The question i have is the deck width 96" between the side or overall width?

Guy that does some hauling for us at work had his Big Tex gooseneck deckover rear ended and it was totaled. He bought a Diamond C and from all appearances that is a beast of a trailer. Waaay better design and built than either Kaufman or Big Tex. I suspect it was priced accordingly. But a very nice trailer.
