Daylight Savings Time---yes or no?

I had a total of 40 clocks/watches etc to change yesterday. It used up my 'extra hour' and then some. No more DST please.

Just wait, in 6 months you'll get to do it all over again.

I grew up without it, and have hated it ever since. If they want to change times, let the schools, businesses, etc change the times for their themselves and leave the rest of us out of the equation. :smiley_aafz:

I certainly wouldn't be adverse to leaving the time alone on Standard time.

B-b-b-but- I thought that DST was to help you farmers!?!

Just don't watch the clock, just use it for a reference.
We try to not work after dark. We do alot of road hauling and it doesn't matter what you have for lights it gets dicey on the road after dark.

I say leave the clocks alone. Here in Indiana, we are on the western edge of Eastern time zone. So we already have an extra hour in the evening. But during the summer, it's not dark until 10:00!

Before DST, factories/businesses just changed the work hours.

Also, why some people sets their clock 10 min fast so they are not late, really??

That one drives me crazy. A coworker used to do that in his truck and house, so you never really knew what time it was. He also made it a practice to show up 5 minutes early, which isn't a bad thing in itself. Yet when you add the two together and show up at somebody's house 15 minutes before the agreed upon time... usually I would be doing my breakfast dishes, or walking the dog if he was staying at home.

I have often left my clocks alone in the fall, only changing them when I wanted the extra time. I just get a little tired of being asked if "that is the right time".

I had three, my good watch (not everyday one), the kitchen oven, and my truck. The rest did it by themselves.

Usually it happens in close timing to a power failure so all your work is in vain. lol

Ditto at work where there is over 20 of them. Love those atomic clocks.
10-12 of them at home that the wife does cuz she is a clock nut.
I like the time change, love the extra daylight it lets us have, takes minutes to do yet we spend hours complaining about it.
Just don't understand what the big deal is, it's a very minor thing to do, not like we all have to climb up the clock tower to change Big Ben.

You are preaching the Gospel! Reset clocks on Sunday morning, power went out twice yesterday evening. Both times for 2 minutes or less, just long enough that EVERYTHING had to be reset. Of course after the first outage got everything reset and hour and half later, it went out again..................

Often I am so close to guessing the time, it makes you wonder, why even bother?

   / Daylight Savings Time---yes or no? #77
I didn't bother to change the clocks in the shop, in just 4.5 months, March 14, 2021 we switch back to DST. I figure why bother, I'm out there only 2 or 3 hours a day.

Good Point. Even a broken clock is right two times a day.

Well, I have to plead guilty on that one. Well not since I (mostly) retired but did for most of my working life. It was more a psychological thing...I knew the clock was :10 fast, but it did get me out the door a little earlier than I might have otherwise.

A high school friend's parents did that, I just copied the idea from them.

Why not set it ten minutes slower and you will really move your azz! Thinking that you are always late already.
