How could you possibly take pin on brackets off of a bucket..:confused3: Mine are in dozens of pieces of scrap metal..and metal dust...I can't imagine someone able to get them off in a usable condtion.. it boggles my mind.

Using an oxy-acetylene cutting torch fit with a riser/rivet cutting tip:

Been trying to find one of those tips to fit my Cutmaster torch for exactly this purpose for more than a little while now.

I just tried to buy the B3200 setup for my B2620. My dealer talked me out of it. He said Kubota no longer offers the pallet forks for it.

He told me to buy the HLA skid steer quick attach. Apparently it comes with brackets to weld on your bucket, but he said you don't need to, but you would have to remove the pins every time.

Using a skid steer type QA is way better than the pin-on quick attach that Kubota used to offer for the B3200. When I first bought my B3200 - I got it with the pin-on quick attach adapter - and I also bought the Kubota pallet fork frame. Then they came out with the B3300 which had the skid steer quick attach option. I measured up the FEL arms on both - and determined that they were the same spacing - and bought the B3300 adapter and put it on my B3200. I got rid of the pin-on adapter, the bucket, and the forklift frame on Craigslist and went with all skid steer type QA attachments for the bucket.

At the time - there wasn't any good options for a lightweight forklift frame with the skid steer type QA method - so I convinced the guy who started Artillian to build me up one his forklift frames with the skid steer QA. Been using that ever since. They now offer it as a product - and I would highly recommend it. The Artillian forklift frame was a LOT lighter than the Kubota forklift frame - which was a overly-heavy beast IMHO. I ended up buying a couple of Kubota buckets (a 60" and a 54") with the skid steer type QA on them to replace the pin-on bucket I originally had with the B3200 when I bought it.

OK. thanks Jim. I just thought the Kubota pin on looked like a good option for me since it was light and I will only be using a bucket and forks.
But my dealer didn't seem to be a fan of it either.

Been getting the job done with my clamp on bucket forks but they are pain to see and put a lot more leverage on controlling them.

The main problem with the pin-on IMHO is that it seriously restricts you to only those attachments that have the same pin spacing as the Kubota loader/bucket. It's also a PITA to swap things around. Swapping buckets when I had the pin-on QA took me sometimes a couple of minutes, swapping with the skid-steer QA takes like 30 seconds. Using the skid steer QA opens up the number of attachments you can *easily* acquire for the tractor as well. I have a 60" bucket & a 54" bucket (Kubota), the artillian fork frame, a concrete bucket, a Virnig rock bucket, an Artillian adapter that allows me to attach to 3pt accessories - etc.

I don't think the Kubota adapter to use skid-steer QA attachments - weighed in all that different from the pin on adapter. If I remember correctly I weighed both when I had them and probably have the info saved somewhere, I can go try to find it if you're interested.

Another aspect of the skid steer QA that makes it better for the smaller tractors - is that it pulls in the pivot point of the attachment by at least 2-3 inches (again - going by memory). These tractors don't have huge lift capacity - so every little bit counts. So that's another thing to take into account - especially since you are using the clamp on bucket forks - those things move the point where you can lift something quite a ways out from the pivot point of the bucket - they seriously cut into your lifting capacity.

Probably one of the most useful attachments I have for the FEL - is the Artillian fork frame with a pair of 24 inch forks. Artillian used to sell them - I don't think they do any more though. I built a bunch of 2ft x 4ft pallets out of pressure treat - and I use them to move all sorts of heavy stuff like concrete bags and concrete blocks. With that combination I can lift up a pallet loaded with about 960 pounds of concrete bags or blocks. It's because the attachment combo is light - and the weight is as close into the pivot point as you can possibly get it.

Thanks Jim. All good helpful information. Appreciated. That was why I was looking at the Kubota pin on....I kept reading all kinds of posts saying the skid steer qa on my tractor would detract lift capacity big time, but you say it moves the pivot points in...so that would be a good thing.

Thanks. Think I will go ss qa now.

The main thing to keep in mind with the SSQA is that the quick attach itself is compatible with a with range of skid steer attachments - most of which are way overbuilt for the lift capacity of the FEL on our tractors. So when you're looking for SSQA attachments to go with the tractor - stay away from the stuff that's built for skid steers with 2500 pound lift capacity and stuff like that.

Always keep in mind how far the load is from the pivot point on the FEL - and how much the attachment weight is that you're trying to use - and you'll be able to maximize the lift capacity.

Well, I just ordered the Kubota pin on quick attach and the pallet forks.
Had to get through whole goods, parts guys couldn't find the numbers. Salesman told me it is going to be 3 to 4 months to get the QA and the fork frame. Said they have to make them? Kubota did have a set of forks though.

Was $400 for the QA, $400 for the 36 inch forks and $800 for the fork frame.

Didn't want the front end to be jealous because I bought a backhoe this winter, so had to get something for it, LOL

If it was me - I would go to the Artillian site and see if they have their SSQA type fork frame in stock - and if they do - get one ordered - and cancel the Kubota fork frame. Also - compare whatever forks that Kubota is going to supply - with what Artilian supplies. There is a wide range of fork types available - and given the 1000 pound-or-so lift rating on the FEL for these tractors - it doesn't make much sense to get forks that are rated to lift say 3000 pounds - when you'll never be lifting that much. The forks will weigh heavy, cost more, and will reduce the lifting capacity you have with that extra weight.

Just my two cents............

I've had the Artillian SSQA fork frame for a few years now - and a couple of pairs of their forks. Used them pretty heavily - and that includes prying rocks out of the ground with them and stuff like that. They've made it thru all of that without any issues.

The Artillian site lists their fork frame as weighing in at 99 pounds :

If I remember correctly - the Kubota fork frame I had - weighed in at something like 160 pounds. I have it written down somewhere, would have to check to see if I'm correct on that weight. I do remember it was quite a bit heavier than the Artillian frame.
