We had a trace of rain today. Local weather station recorded it at 0.01" . My vertical sided planting pans say it it was closer to 0.10". Talk about splitting wet hairs.

This morning when we got sprinkles - thought I might have heard thunder - way off in the distance.

Our forecast for tonight and tomorrow Am is for thunder and dry lightning.

Province Of BC - this afternoon - State of Emergency Declared (link in the 2021 summer fires thread)

We are fine, several fires each about an hour away. One of our tenants upstairs is a front line Fire Fighter in this mess. Prayers for safety.

The sprinkles turned into real rain - 0.17". I know - it isn't a whole lot. But it certainly cooled things down and cleaned the air.

An article on MSNBC, this evening - shows smoke from the PNW fires blanketing Manhattan.

Today has all the makings of a really nice day. It's 48F outside @ 3:45am, and expected to top out at 80F. No smoke so far either. Outside temps may drop a couple degrees around sunrise.

Ah, ha - rain. Not a whole lot - just sprinkles. But it did bring the outside temperature down. Now if it would just continue.

Down here in the Colfax areas we did get rain, possibly a couple tenths. Too late to do any good and brought the harvest to a halt. That was the first measurable moisture since Jun 15th. That "rain" was barely more than a trace. It was nice and did clear the air. Heard this monring that some farmers were back cutting yesterday afternoon.

How is the wheat crop this year?
