in my day we did not called this ‘quote’! Strange how you can a word or two (or more) and totally change the meaning much less the context!
Point in case inadequate and not heavy duty at least in my opinion do not mean the same thing.
One is a caution and the other out right says it will not do the intended job at least long term!

I have an L4701. It is a very nice and dependable tractor. I bought the L before the MX came out. It is my thinking that any improvement in the frame will, in the end be worth the upgrade. When I made this decision, I was told that of the four L series, the L2501, L3301, L3901 all had the same frame and the L4701 had a upgraded heavier frame. I have been very happy with the L4701. But I think if you can upgrade to mx for $3k - do it. And also you will have the option to get an MX with 60 hp. Both L and Mx are a nice tractor line. But $3k is a very low cost upgrade.

I never made a negative recommendation. It would be best to learn how to read and use your brain before firing back and stop filling everything with the same negativity that you are implying.

I made a recommendation of one system vs. another; I think we all have the right to express our own opinions. That doesn't give you the right to start falsely quoting and accusing.
You don't need to lie to express an opposing opinion and don't need to act like a yerk either.

As long as the price is right, looks like the MX5400 may be the perfect tractor for my needs. It will be a transition going from the GST on the L4330 to the standard shift, but not really any difference with the 3910 & 3930 we already have.

Go for the shuttle shift / gear... great machines. I absolutely love mine.

I commend you for your resiliency; I still reject your unnecessary "Yerkiness."
I'm not back-pedaling at all; my recommendation to the OP initial post still stands, the wet clutch system in the M5660 is more robust and durable than the dry clutch in an MX series.

I wish the OP good luck in his purchase; I'm sure he will have a fun time picking his new machine.

I considered the L4701 but instead I got the MX5400 and I'm very happy with it. If anything there are days I wish I had more power, the L4701 would probably have made me unhappy in that regard. I also appreciate the additional width of the 5400 for stability. So far the machine has been flawless.

Agreed. The MX is a great tractor that has everything in the right place, good weight distribution and fits in tight corners.

Reading granddad4 post he made some good points. I have had a M for over 20 years and last year went with a Grand L6060 with cab over the MX of that size with Cab. Now I was comparing those two for MY USE. There were some features on the MX I liked but over all I found several preferences in the Grand L. A few related to the cab so if no cab some of the G L advantage go away. One I well remember was the difference between the rear life cylinders. The MX has older system with the lift cyl in the transmission where the L has them external. There have been many built of all brands with the lift cyls in the transmission but believe any repairs needed the external has advantage. Did like the larger front wheel on the MX (both four wheel drive) but the Grand L transmission with it's extras was had to pass on. For woods or fields the front wheels on the MX are nice. I did not remember that much on difference in FEL capacity.

MX has larger wheels and tires front and rear than any L.

MX has heavier Category 2 Three Point Hitch. Kubota provides pin bushings so you can pull Category 1 implements equally well.

MX has two part rims when you order R4 tires, so rear wheel stance is adjustable with R4 tires.

Probably three times as many units of MX are sold, relative to L4701.

Buy the MX.

If you are over 55 years of age buy a Kubota 'Grand L'. Your aging body will thank you every day.

When I purchased L4701 the rear tires where the same.Fronts where different for loader difference.

Ditto. I love my MX4800. I would not want a lesser performing tractor. Loader capacity on the MX has been a big deal for the work I do. Of course, one's personal needs may be different requiring a different tractor.
