Pro works 48” forks. Don’t know weight of them but would say fairly light.

Log was by all accounts way too big and even for the la1055 too honestly lol. It was a big pine. I’ll get some measurements tomorrow and see. Not lifting that particular load isn’t what is wrong as knowing it’s too much.

The rock however surprisingly didn’t lift and the struggle of getting up the hill unloaded was the other big concern
Big logs are skidded, not lifted.

You should have bought a John Deere. They have load match on the HTS transmissions. You never run out of power.

Most here recommend more than 40-horsepower (net) for a cab Grand L.

Kubota L4060 Power
Engine (gross):42 hp
31.3 kW
Engine (net):40 hp
29.8 kW

The cab adds 375 pounds to tractor weight.

It takes three horsepower to power air conditioning.

Kubota L4060 Weight
3737 lbs
1695 kg (DT ROPS)
3748 lbs
1700 kg (GST ROPS)
3759 lbs
1705 kg (hydro ROPS)
4134 lbs
1875 kg (hydro cab)

4,134 pounds hydro cab + 1,279 pounds FEL = 5,413 pounds

5,413 pounds / 40 horsepower = 135 pounds per horsepower.

5,413 pounds / 37 horsepower = 146 pounds per horsepower.

Is your L4060 equipped with "loaded" rear tires or wheel weights?
So this new tractor with cab weighs 1100 more pounds and has 4 more horsepower than my old 1999 L3710 open station. I can see where it wouldn't climb steep hills well.

Do you have the stall guard on? That will reduce speed to maintain rpm. I have a L3240 rops and some very steep hills, I don't have any issues grading a very steep road road with a full 78in 1200lb box blade and loaded r4 in medium range/low(turtle) or low range/high(rabbit).

With 8 more hp I would think it would more capable then my 3240, even with the couple hundred lbs of added weight for the cab.

Oh I didn’t know that. I’ll try that off and see.

Sound like something is not set correctly. I guess all of this is one of the reason I have stayed with a geared tractor. My Kubota M6040 will easily lift a 2400# pine log with my 820# Land Pride grapple. With this load low( knuckle dragging) I can very easily, quickly move up a VERY steep slope - in 4WD.
This pine log is - 32" by 8'. I moved it to the front yard while still green - eight years ago. My log weight chart says this log weighed right at 2320# when I moved it.

Oh yeah that log is tiny. No wonder she had issues with it lol. As said that isn’t a surprise it was too heavy.

Be careful what you wish for, it’s constant criticism about everything you do. Like how long it takes you to hook up a PTO shaft.

He does HST rides too, but usually only to get from point A to point B.

He really wants to ride and I wouldn’t kind one bit having him give that glare lol. Incredible he rides with you!

Something else to try;slightly lower your three point hitch. If this is out of adjustment it will put the hydraulics into "relief"" and kill your power.Simple adjustment by dealer.
Something is not right;I have a similar tractor and never use low range or run out of power.

I know the hst pedal operation had been mentioned, but it bears repeating....
Even with the throttle tied into the pedal, mashing the hst pedal increases (?) the gear ratio, resulting in less power. I get those terms mixed up, but you get my meaning!
I climb some aggressive slopes in Medium Range / Hi, going light on the pedal.
I can't recall the last time I've been in low Range for anything

I always use low range box scrapping 3/4 crush lime going up hill. Even then it's possible to bog down the tractor in low and barely moving, requiring letting material out of the box scrapper to continue up the steep driveway.
