It very clear that the implement will attach on that tractor as shown on the video with the same exact tractor and mower.

Here's some measurements off my 4710 if it helps. When you disconnect the sway bars you can bring the arms in to 20 inches center to center so it's not the draw bar bracket stopping it, it's the sway bars limiting them. Looks like the implement manufacture would have made two different attachment points for the lower arms. One for cat 1 and another for cat 2. That's how all mine seem to be set up.

Hmm str8 6 go to 20” and the op’s only to about 30” . Something doesn’t add up. I would pull the pins in the top of the lift links where they attach to the rockshaft arms, check and make sure the pivot balls in the top of lift links are free to move. Lubricate them well and free them up if there corroded or painted stuck. I would also check the pivot balls in the arms where they attach to axle, all 4 of these pivot balls need to be completely free to swivel. If any of them are corroded or painted stuck it will cause your issue.

So I guess next step is for OP to pull the pins on anti sway bars and see if lift arms will actually come in closer to fitting implement

I'm contacting another owner of this same unit because I want to make sure its made correctly. Either way, this is simply NOT made to CAT 2 standards. Everything I've read online says 32 inches between the arms.

Correct, the photos I uploaded don't really show it well unfortunately.

His narrow to 20" when he disconnects the sway bar, I can do this as well but it's not really an ideal solution. Isn't the point of making implements to a certain standard so that they will fit properly?

I did do this. I am able to attach it if I disconnect one of the sway bars. Honestly I don't really view this as a great solution..

The stabilizers should just slide in and out. It's a telescopic design. The thread portion allows for fine tuning.

   / 4707 3 Point adjustment issues #30
The telescopic sway bars do slide in and out with the pins removed but they won't allow enough movement to get below 32" at the ball ends. It's a true cat 2 system and by those standards the tractor is exact. This isn't one of those 50hp or 60hp three points that's marketed as cat 1/2. Those would have no problem hooking up to that cutter. The cutter that says it fits a cat 2 system is where the problem is. I should have taken one of the sway bars apart to make sure it wasn't binding but it looks like it's just at the end of its travel and that's all it's got which is more than enough for a cat 2 system. You know, I have a 6' woods bush hog that's built just like the cutter mentioned in this post. I bet it won't fit this tractor.

These ones don't, some stabilizers have multiple holes you can put the pin in, the purpose is to prevent sway, if you have it without the pin you might as well just disconnect it.

You can see when I put it up against the lower hitch arm (the cutter is currently attached with the sway bar disconnected) there is no way I would be able to reconnect that sway bar. The ball in the sway bar that connects to the tractor prevents it from getting the correct angle to attach back to the hitch arm.

cutter that says it fits a cat 2 system is where the problem is.

Exactly. It does not. I am contacting the manufacturer to see what recourse I have. I have been getting treated like absolute **** by companies recently and I'm sick of it. If nothing else Ill just return it.

I talked with some neighbors who farm and they said its not that uncommon to have to remove a sway bar to connect to something. I find it really silly that there is a set standard and companies are not making the implements to that standard. I completely understand if you're using a disc that cousin Eddie made in 1959 and it doesn't quite fit, but is it so much to ask that companies use the defined standard for width when making new equipment?

Being that it's a new tractor I'm trying to confirm that this won't affect my warranty at all. Thankfully the implement company has been receptive and understands my concerns and they are confident there is no warranty issue with operating with a sway bar disconnected.

EDIT: I should add this concern may be laughable for experienced owners, this is my first rodeo so I'm just trying to learn as much as possible and not screw myself.

I've run plenty of implements without sway bars and it won't hurt a thing as long as your arms aren't getting into the tires but I sure don't care for the flopping back and forth that goes on with them disconnected, especially with a bush hog.

While the 3 point connections on your 4707 are a different design than the 1735M in the link below I too would be concerned about an implement flopping around. I'd definitely be confirming with your Massey dealer about not connecting the sway bars before you proceed.

I have a 2022 4707 and I have the same issue. Unfortunately, I am also inexperienced in a tractor of this size. I've used a 1999 90hp cat 2 Deere before and had absolutely no issues hooking up the same implements. I called my Massey dealer and they said I could just by different stabilizer arms to make it come in more narrow. That seems stupid to have to buy new stabilizer arms, but these things don't come in very much.

I've tried to watch DLH's youtube videos because his 4710 is basically the same, just a couple years older. His stabilizer arms seem to have several holes for the pin to slide into. That seems like it would solve the problem. So I've looked around for new stabilizer arms, but I haven't found much promising and therefore haven't bought anything.

The only other option I see is remove one of the arms and just letting the other do the stabilizing job I guess. But I'm with you that it sounds like a bad solution.

   / 4707 3 Point adjustment issues #39
Those stabilizer bars that Massey-Ferguson uses on the 4707 have a useful range of motion that places the arms in Cat 3 widths. Any of my Cat2 3 pt tractors the stabilizer bar is at midstroke of its range when the arms are placed at Cat2 spec 32” between. If Massey-Ferguson does offer stabilizer bars that have a more useful Cat 2 range (narrower) that would be high on my list of installing. I would definitely want 2 stabilizer bars when operating that Bauma.

I just got my 4707 two days ago, and I'm planning on attaching my 6 foot cutter to it later today. I'll see what happens and comment when I've figured it out.
