Well if you can’t fit a socket on it then the only option you have is to use a box end wrench. If you want to apply a known torque value, then measure the length of the wrench and use a pull scale on the other end of the wrench. A known length and a known force applied at that length will result in a known torque value. Or you could just put the wrench on and tighten it really tight

I have not calculated but I agree that it seems less than that and less than I expected. I was concerned that my 5 Gallon can that I use wouldn’t “keep up” when I was running the tractor a lot on a weekend. But I’ve had no issue topping off before I start a project and not needing to make another trip for diesel all weekend. Seems very easy on diesel to me.
I have not been keeping an accurate tab on it but i'm somewhere around .6 gph 24 gal in 42 hrs

Might I say mostly due to the high marks and praise you gentlemen have spoken in this thread . 5 years ago I bought a NEW newholland workmaster 33 with loader and honestly I never would have given Mahindra a shot . ( I don't know anyone with one ) but my frustrations with 4Bfinal, and no body but Mahindra having anything to offer that is not ( I looked at all the big names )
I have to say there are a few things I'm not really impressed with "throw length on shuttle shift , overhanging fuel filter , three point travel speed adjustment" at the same time I'm vary impressed with the heft of the unit . Reminds me of units I grew up on just a lot more modern .
I hope and pray this is the last large tractor I ever have to buy. Besides if I had to buy another I'm sure my wife would bring my demise
hope you love the tractor as much as i do, I agree with some of your statements the economy PTO selection lever is in a hard to reach location but how often will you need to access it. the 3pt hydraulic rate adjustment knob is funky but again how often will you be adjusting it. the travel on the shuttle lever, to be honest I do not find that to be on my radar but to each his own. What part of Ohio are you in? I’m in northwestern PA and we’ve finally gotten some much needed rain as well. You’re going to like the capability of your tractor. I know I have. And those things you point out as a negative I agree aren’t perfect but nothing ever is. I’ll be interested to see how you feel about the shuttle lever after you’re used to it. I find it very smooth in actual use and don’t find the throw to be excessive at all. It’s mechanical so it’s not going to be as short as a power shuttle but it’s so smooth in it’s operation I really like it compared to the shuttle lever on my previous 1538.
nice, I avoided the turbo but to each his own. I think you will wonder how you ever got along with a SCUT like the B7500.
I went with the 5155 over the 5145 because I was moving up from a 39HP and wanted a bigger jump in HP than the 45 would have given me. Plus turbos don’t scare me as they’ve been used on diesel equipment for decades. I’ll tell you that the tractor overall continues to impress me. I was able to rip out a clump of thorn apple trees last weekend easily that my 1538 wouldn’t when I tried last fall. The combination of a much more powerful loader and a much heavier tractor made it effortless. And put an enormous smile on my face. It really pushes hard.

quite not much goes on out here . Anyhow I traded my newholland in and got the 5145 today .
I’m familiar with Youngstown and some of the little towns around it like Poland and Campbell. I once owned an old Campbell fire department truck, so I’ve been in your neck of the woods before. And yes I also had to clean off the paint from my PTO shaft as well. But overall I’m very pleased. I think once you get to really use the tractor and get familiar with it, you’ll really appreciate the size and heft. Speaking of heft, it’s heavier than what Mahindra says it is. I had mine weighed at the gravel pit scales and the tractor, loader, and loaded R4 rears comes in at 8,940lbs. Did you have specific issues with your New Holland and regeneration? I took it for a short ride and a few cold adult beverages to the back of the property . The throw on the shuttle is just a lot longer than I am used to but didn't seem to bad ( I will know more when I do some loader work ) ground is soft from rain but I could not resist at least a little ride ! . Man I have to say the 45 has that old school sound and low end torque I could tell right off the bat and haven't even engage The ground yet.
Some slight disappointment , such as the heavy coat of paint on the PTO shaft when I took off the cover .. I understand why the manufacturer would do it at the same time some cosmoline or thick coat of Grease would have done the same job without having to mechanically remove it with a wire wheel to get a yolk to mount , also found some heavy build up of over spray on the hydraulic cylinders for the loader at the end of the stroke that would still fall within the cylinders full stroke and cause premature seal failure or contribute to it at the least. At the same time I see my dealer as much at fault ( they are a new dealer ) so it is what it is .
I must say in spite of all my complaints and the very short amount of seat time , I am highly impressed .. I don't understand how anyone can make a tractor this size with this kind of grunt in this price range and still make any profit???
I could not feel better about being rid of that regenerating tractor as much as i thought it would be my last .
this old school sound puts a huge grin on my face every time I bump that pedal!!

Nice, hope you enjoy the heck out of it like i do mine. if my wife is looking for me she first checks to see if the tractor is in the shed and then drives to the back of the property to find me.
