I agree with a lot of what you said. Read the instruction manual, never !!! Use common sense, what’s that ? Now days thats called being “woke”I've been doing sales, tech support, customer service, and returns online for 15 years. I'd like to think I have honed my skills and that I can provide better service today than 'yesterday'.
The customer hasn't faired as well. I think you all know what I'm talking about. Free returns at Amazon sparked a nation of test buyers. Tiktok and You Tube have erased the ability to follow written instruction or understand a diagram.
I could go on about the shortened attention span and lack of patience.

I assembled a portable basketball hoop and backboard for my son 2 weeks ago. I ended up taking it apart as many times as I put it together. The instruction were decent and all the parts were there.
