I'm not up for all day land clearing, but once I have logs piled up for bucking I can run through several tanks getting them short. Now the splitting requires a break after every tank of fuel.

I bucked 6 tanks worth with the 353 in a day and a bit. Hit some barb wire in a log late in the day and did not feel like restarting after sharping the chain. Logs from tiny to 24"

Cutting overhead branches is a practice many people get hurt at. Get a pole saw and you can move away a bit.

Yeah, I have a extendable Stihl gas powered pole saw I break out for the higher branches. The pruner works great for the lower ones that seem to grow perfectly horizontal right at eyeball level when you are passing by on a UTV. Those are the one that will slap the glasses right off your face and knock the dip right out of your mouth....

The only downside to my 80v saw is the fact that it's significantly heavier than my 40cc gas saw, and when the battery is dead, I have to stop work. The gasser runs longer on a tank of fuel, and I can fill it in less than a minute and keep working. Electric saws are great for hobbyist use, but not storm cleanup or land clearing.

You clear land with a chainsaw? I'm too old to run a saw that long. Me and the batteries run about the same length of time. One of the beauties of retirement, I do most things at my own pace.

I bought mine for around the house and for sawing up a branch here & there.
Even guys who clear land still go home to a house & property that needs lawn mowing, landscaping, etc.

I’m not breaking out big gas saws for that stuff Lol

I can second that. Kombi KM 131 R engine, with bed redefiner, string trimmer, hedge trimmer, pole saw, and a smattering of extensions. Very useful bit of kit for getting done just about anything around the house.

A pole saw can also be useful for cutting branches under high or unpredictable loading, from big blown-down trees, while keeping you a few feet outside the firing zone. I've known more than one case of someone getting taken out by such scenarios, being too close to the work, when pressure released differently than predicted or expected.
