Tym vs Massey Ferguson

I’m back and fourth but I’m narrowing it down. I’m gonna skip the hoe and cab I really don’t need them and they’re expensive. So now I gotta decide either the Massey 2850e or the tym 494. Looks like around a 3500 or so dollar difference between the dealers prices with the attatchments I wanna get.
3rd function, grapple, tire fluid, forks. Price isn’t too far off so might be worth stepping up to the Massey. feel it’s probably a safer decision cuse of agco
but those tym apecs look nice too!
How do you feel about available local dealership service and parts for each brand? That will help with your decision. Also be sure the the two you’re considering are comparable in specs.

On the Massey I’m considering getting it from Bruno’s and getting it shipped here. Their prices are so much better than the local guy. He wants like 4k more for a 1835 than Bruno’s does My local Massey guys prices are on another planet. I can’t speak to how their service is cuse I’ve never had to use it in my two years with my Massey.

The tym dealer is an hour and a half away but it’s a large dealer. There’s a very small tym dealer near me. I’m gonna call them and see what their prices are but they didn’t have a 494 last week anyway. They had more ls than tym. I’ve bought saws from them over the years but no tractors.

You know I can’t remember. I’ve looked at so many tractors I forget. India maybe?

So, if it's the same as the 18 series, the E is made in Indonesia and the M made in Japan.

The Indonesian built machines seem real solid in their own right, I really liked what the 18E had to offer, I just liked my Kioti more lol.

At this point most of the brands have a pretty decent machine. I’m not really worried about ending up with a total pos but I don’t wanna be all Willy nilly about my choice either.

Good point. Every brand will have units that just have problems. Most makes and models are fine. Buy dealer, value and features.

Is it built by same company that builds the Japanese Masseys?

If your machines are highly comparable in specs, prices are similar, etc. then move onto new categories of comparison.
Like which one will have better parts/service support? Which one will have higher resale? Which one will be more recognizable brand name in 10 years? Which dealer gives you a more stable or service-oriented feeling?

OK, it looks like the Indonesian Masseys are still made by Iseki, so thats good news. Also seeing 0% financing currently for the E series. If you like the Massey dealer best, its a no brainer.
