I was working on my largest farm tractor about 2 months ago during first cutting. Typically we are like walking zombies because of the work load. Anyway, I had to fix something high up on top of the engine on the “passenger side” of the tractor. I was not tall enough to reach, so I grabbed a 5 gallon bucket of motor oil to stand on. When I finished the repair, I walked around the tractor to the “drivers side”, climbed in the cab and fired it up.
I thought “sounds good, now I’ll back out of the shop”.
I forgot about the full, unopened bucket of oil.
The 5’ tall front tire immediately crushed the plastic pail of oil and it exploded like a bomb, showering 5 gallons of oil everywhere for 30 feet in the shop.
I’m still cleaning it up.

BTW, the “boom” was pretty loud.
My wallet cringed when I read his post, knowing what that stuff goes for these days.holy

Yeah, it was a $100 bucket of oil, but the mess was worse.

When I got possession of my house I was at work and the owner had left by the time I got back (I work rotations) so they showed me the house as far as what was where like sewer clean out, drains electrical panel and what not several months before i actually got possession of the house. Once I moved in I saw a guy that was looking for a room to rent so I rented him a room since i was single in a big house plus it gave me some extra cash plus it was someone to watch the house while I was gone at work. Then one time I got in from work and it was cold upstairs and the natural gas fire place was just pumping heat like crazy but the furnace was not working so I thought it’s probably busted but let’s get it check. I called a heating and cooling contra they and the guy come in and while he his checking it out with his voltmeter i was like I won’t look over his shoulder i will go up stairs then I see this electrical switch on the sealing by the stairs and i flick it to its opposite direction, the guy was like what did you do i got power now ? i was like 
, I didn’t do nothing why you fix it ? he was like no I didn’t touch anything it was you…I was so embarrassed, i said yeah the power switch was off 
it’s a new house i forgot about it and the dud who is renting a room must’ve closed it … I felt pretty stupid about this one … but he updated my thermostat since it was acting up so at least he didn’t came in for nothing.
