The LCP also has a long, stiff pull on the trigger (as do most DAO handguns). As I wrote, in a quick pull under stress, that long stiff pull could be overcome quite easily. It's a neat design...QUOTE]
For me, any problems with that long stiff pull is overcome by training and practice. All, I hope, know what happens if one "jerks" a trigger while firing a weapon. Instead, with this weapon, one learns how far back on the trigger to "pull" steadily, take aim, and then squeeze off the shot. Practice finding that "squeeze point" and making the knowledge instinctive develops a very useful and quite accurate weapon at close range.
NO one would not put anything over the end of the barrel to keep it clean. Roy is right about a daily cleaning or at the most on a regular timely basis. For me, I find the time waiting for my wife to go in the store and get our 2 or 3 times a week errand run over with a perfect time to do this maintenance. Often, I will just roll up a paper napkin and run it down the end of the barrel while twisting a bit.
One thing about these weapons is that they are totally simple and easy to break down. The bullet that one ejects from the chamber to clear the weapon is used to pry out one pin and then the whole thing comes apart with a twist of the hands........Easy.....Blowing out dust and crud is then a nothing job...........
Again, for me, this holster allows me to KNOW that while going into Walmart or into the local meth supply house, the corner milk and bread store, that I will be prepared for what problems may be brought out by individuals that may want something that I have..............God bless..........Dennis
