That’s it. I’ve looked at a bunch of pictures and I guess the pictures were of a male maybe. I was thinking Catbird but got it confused with Cowbird. Thanks for nailing that one down for me, it was bugging me every time I saw one.

It was a lucky guess on my part. I was an amateur birder in my youth. Binoculars, notebook, night vision, neighbors' windows... ahh, maybe too much info there.

They lay their eggs in other birds nests and never have to raise their own.

I knew cowbirds did lay their eggs for other birds to raise. The baby cowbird usually kicks any other birds out of the nest to. It’s cruel that they do that but that’s nature.

There is a definite pecking order at the bird feeder. Wood Peckers and Blue Jays often make the other birds fly off for a short time. My observation on Cowbirds is they don’t chase other birds away and they don’t let other birds chase them away.

It was lively outside this morning. Female, Red-bellied woodpecker squawking loudly at the Blue Jay. She owns all the toys, and you can't play with them.

There's a good app I downloaded "plantnet" identifier. These flowers just appeared, cold February, the yellow one is Winter aconite, white is snowdrop. The aconite must prefer shady acidic soil because it's growing under pines.

If you have an iPhone, you can take a picture of a plant or flower and ask it to identify it. Works fairly well.

I often take my DSLR camera with me hunting as something else to do to pass the time. Here's a pic I got of a juvenile bald eagle on our property. We usually only see them around here every couple of years.

Two redfish and 4 flounder. It was a slow day. Actually, my daughter and son in law caught everything. I didn't catch anything, but it still a very nice day to be fishing.

Wife and I drove over to Chain O Lakes State Park near Albion, IN yesterday and did some walking.
