Augers like post hole diggers? Most are standard flow. Snowblowers come with a wide range of flow requirements but many will exceed your tractor's capability. I'm not going to do your research; it's not difficult for you to search specs from manufacturers you are considering.
Only if the motor flow requirements are that high. Many are not. As Hay Dude says, compare the flow requirement specs of the implements you are considering to the tractor 3rd function flow spec.
I could be wrong but I took the $264 figure to be the price for a sufficient quantity of SUDT2 to accomplish the drain & fill on the MX. That would be more in line with typical retail prices per gallon/pail/whatever.
This isn't a pissing contest Jim. There's no doubt soil conditions vary, which I included in my reply. I plowed a couple hundred acres a year for a couple decades myself. Not an activity I am unfamiliar with.
Operating at low rpm doesn't necessarily mean it is lugging. A 5000 is a 4 plow tractor in most soils and could handle 5-14"s in a lot of conditions. A 3 bottom most likely isn't taxing it much depending on what gear Grampa is using.
Please define "compatible part or consumable". My definitions does not include filters with different micron ratings or flow rates. Or fluids with different viscosities, base stocks or additive packages. Do yours? Do you own any machines with a factory warranty?
Don't change the hydraulic oil @ 50 hours. It's a supreme waste of $$$. Over 26 years experience at three dealers selling CaseIH, New Holland, Kubota and Mahindra. Dealerships have been around since 1963, 1970 and 2010. Not a single recommendation or work order for a hydraulic oil change at 50...
Exactly my point from above. And we both have enough education and experience to understand your illustration is significantly different from those posted earlier with one fulcrum.
Drive ratio is shaft rpm in vs shaft rpm out. What is in the middle makes no difference. Until you understand how the pump displacement changes while the motor displacement remains constant your confusion will persist.
Your assumption that the hydrostatic pump operates at a fixed displacement is...
"When you decrease pressure on the HST pedal, thus decreasing the amount of fluid driving the wheels, you DO NOT get more torque."
Actually you do because you are decreasing the transmission drive ratio.
Sounds more to me like an engine power issue than a transmission fault. If it has sat for an extended period of time maybe the fuel filter and/or water separator are plugged with algae or water from condensation. The air filter housing may have been stuffed full of debris by rodents.
Let's look...
Or if you don't like the idea of butchering the tractor harness you can simply unplug the connector that joins it to the NSS pigtail and make up a jumper wire.
When I bought a welder for occasional use I chose a Miller Thunderbolt stick only machine. The primary reason I did not buy a MIG was I felt my unseated, uninsulated building in upstate NY would have been a poor environment for storage of MIG wire and the sheath and gun. Rusty welding wire is no...
As noted, other brands of tractors in the same hp class are sold every day without this annoying feature. There is no mandate for it on SCUT machines. It is strictly a manufacturer choice.
Coupled with the inherent danger to bystanders and spectators whic is pretty much unavoidable this is a great example of why RIO is a stupid idea to begin with.
There are a couple recent recalls on M5 tractors. You should have a Kubota dealer run your serial number and make sure your tractor has the latest software, DEF header and DEF injector. Sorry I can't help with the delete kit.
Gettin junk in your fuel system is not a design flaw it is a fuel management failure. Keep trash out of the tank and you won't have fuel flow problems.
The Kenworth dealer near us does a brisk business cleaning DPF's. $200 buys an overnight cook with an airflow test printout after the process. We have sent a couple that were out of warranty as cleaning is a fraction of the cost of even a reman OEM DPF.
Only if you don't know how they work and what they do.
A choke limits air flow without completely stopping it. A fuel shutoff solenoid eliminates fuel flow. Apples & oranges; two distinct functions for two distinct reasons.
One is an engine starting aid that alters the fuel/air ratio, the other...
Yeah, you keep posting that but it doesn't apply to trailers like the one I owned that had brakes on both axles and was manufactured as a 7K trailer, plated as such and inspected in NY annually.
if I ever had a legal issue (which I did not) I would have had LoadTrail right there too.
1. Yes. You would have been several hours ahead if you had left the axle attached to the bolster and split the bolster from the engine block.
2. Many parts are the same, some are different but similar.
Yeah, well this one had brakes on both axles, was plated for 7K and I routinely hauled 5500 lbs on it. Never gave it a second thought.
Only mentioned as a response to the experts here.
No, my mistake. The model does not have a drop box attached to the rear axle housing. You are only looking for two drain plugs for the transmission/hydraulics. One at the bottom of the transmission and one at the bottom of the rear axle center section. Front axle oil change is a separate...
Way more guessing here than real info.
High pressure on the low side will not prevent the clutch from activating. Your reported high side pressures won't prevent the clutch from activating. Either pressure switch could have failed, or the thermostatic switch may have failed or a relay may have...
Prairie Belting is an OEM supplier to NH and CaseIH. Their catalog is also available to those dealers through a "Direct Ship" program that allows OEM dealers better pricing than through their own parts system. When I was a NH parts manager we sold Prairie Belting belts as replacements for NH...
Might have had a PTO shaft that was too long, got in a bind and broke the tractor output shaft. Make sure you have a warrantable repair before you stress about the wait time. Most tractor output shaft failures are caused by implement stress of one kind or another.
The biggest single improvement the 8N had over the 9N was the 8N's position control 3 point hitch. 73 years later one of the easiest criteria for a tractor purchase is requiring any 3 point hitch have position control. That eliminates the BX offerings and some other brands of SCUT's.
For me cutting edge bolts are a single use item. Coarse threaded grade 5 or 8 bolts configured for the use (plow, carriage, hex) with a self locking nut. One and done. If they are suitable for re use, so much the better. If not, I'm not fighting them, they come off with the gas ax.
The primary active ingredient being glyphosphate makes it exactly like Roundup. Generic Roundup is what is in the jug. Actually a pretty hot formulation.
Not particularly effective on woody stemmed growth.
They do. And more importantly Kubota has multiple platforms where dealer service departments can have direct communication and conversations with manufacturer's service representatives, technical advisors and area service reps about specific machine failures and repair strategies. This includes...
Kubota isn't charging the customer for the parts or the labor. Their responsibility ends with the warranty. The decision to not participate in a goodwill claim is theirs. Any responsibility for improper diagnosis, unauthorized repairs or unnecessary part replacement lies with the dealer.
When you take delivery of your tractor your relationship with the sales guy to a large degree ends and you start a new one with either the parts guys or service staff. Focus on the equipment you are buying, not the smooth talker selling it.
I'd never be critical of a salesperson that wanted to...
You left Schiller and Textron out of the history. I disagree that Doosan was involved in 2007. There are no green Bob-Cat mowers now, they are all white & black. After a bit of use they look like dirty socks...
Here's a tip:
Put the spring clip ahead of the bar instead of behind it. You'll lose less of them from being snagged by stiff weeds and light brush while traveling forward.
False. Kubota tractors arrive with fluids whether the tractor is assembled or crated. It is the dealer's responsibility to check all fluid levels. My primary responsibility at work is making sure equipment is configured per the sales order and the PDI is completed properly by the three guys that...
We had a guy bring a Summit kit to us to install. It was different from LandPride, WR Long and Construction Attachments kits which we have sold and installed. Guy said it was the cheapest one he could find. Other than some adapter fittings that were sized wrong it looked like a decent kit and...
First thing I'd do is check Deere's online parts lookup myself to see if that pigtail has its own part number.
Second thing I would do is find a dealer parts person with enough ambition to inquire to Deere's parts technical department (or whatever the parts help desk is called) and pull a print...
A Farmall M too. But you couldn't get the pressure plate out of either one. Any two cylinder Waterloo built Deere could have its clutch changed while standing beside it.
The suction line is a slip fit into the pump housing and sealed with an o-ring. Disconnect the pressure line then unbolt the pump from the block and pull it free of the suction tube. Leave the tube more or less in place. Replace the suction tube o-ring and pump mount gasket.
I seriously doubt that ball is threaded. If it is it would be the first one I've ever seen. Give that ball socket a couple good raps with a 24-36 ounce hammer, or support the cylinder, put the nut back on flush with the end of the stud and hit that.
Adding
a little weight to keep the loader balanced is the reason for the block. The face of the coupler sits flat on the ground. The guys in the shop dismount LA525's without attachments all the time. I'm just not certain the loaders fitted to the B's are balanced similarly.
This might not work...
B/L SSQA buckets are all but certain to interchange. That's why they call it "universal".
to the OP.
curl your SSQA plate out and position it flat on the ground before you dismount your loader. Throw a cement block on it and dismount the loader.
My workplace sells Bob-Cat mowers along with Kubota, has for years. Bob-Cat mowers are as good or better than the Kubota gas powered zeroturns.
The first thing Doosan did was slash the warranty length, then they changed the paint scheme. What else they do to the line remains to be seen.
I spent about 10 years doing little other than road service for the dealer I worked for in New York. My truck was on the road almost every day and there was another that was out about half the time.
Other than a 3% employer match and whatever SSI will actually provide, my retirement nest egg is self funded and self managed. I had major concerns about the adequacy of my portfolio but I now believe I'll be ok.
Surprising a DEF equipped engine will be installed in a chassis that size with that low a HP requirement. SCR treatment is unusual (unheard of) below 75 hp.
Frankly, I'll believe it when I see it. The rep probably said it will use a DPF. That would be more common for a Kubota of that general...
A complete replacement PTO shaft will be a telescoping shaft. Measure shaft to shaft with the mower fully raised and fully lowered. Usually but not always the longer measurement will be with the implement raised. You want a minimum of 6" of overlap at the longest point and some room for the...
Yes, replace the coil. But there is no resistor to remove. No matter how you deal with the voltage change your fuel gauge/sender combo won't like the polarity change.
Hook it up to your tractor and get your tape measure out. Go buy a generic metric Series 4 driveshaft with the appropriate implement end yoke and 1-3/8"-6 tractor end yoke of a suitable length. Cut to the exact length you need.
Call them up and get it confirmed on their end that you were sold the wrong filter through no fault of your own. Then take it back for the correct one at your convenience. No way I'd eat that cost based on your account of the circumstances. In fact, I'd lean on them to ship the correct filter to...
26 years of dealership work here. It's not a matter of what the OP does WITH his tractor. It's all about what he does TO his tractor. Perhaps without a full understanding of how or why.
I've seen a brand new 40 hp tractor delivered on Friday and winched on the flatbed on Monday because the...
There are very few tractors in this world that don't require a split " just to replace the clutch".
You are fortunate indeed that the first clutch failure was covered under warranty.
Two clutch failures within those very low hours of operation point strongly towards improper operation...
My uncle put a Perkins 354 in a Ford 3/4 ton service truck in the mid 1970's and ran it on pipeline jobs all over the Northeast and Midwest for about 15 years.
Not everyone has that luxury. The best responses here came from those that store equipment in the elements while understanding the challenges that presents.
Loose fan belt, low coolant level, dirty radiator, failed temp sender, gauge failing, plugged oil cooler, poor instrument cluster ground. How many parts do you want to throw at it?
Water pump would be at the bottom of my suspect list.
The one with a hydraulic thumb. If neither are so equipped, the one with the mechanical thumb. If neither are so equipped, the one that will accomplish the task in the least number of days. If you think they would finish in equal times, the Kubota.
Make sure it isn't leaking between the pump and intermediate gasket that seals the pump casting to the steel plate that came with the pump. Sometimes the small short bolts holding the plate on aren't torqued and the gasket seals imperfectly if you didn't check those bolts.
That is an unusually large and heavy bucket to hang on an MX5400. Over 1/3 of your lift capacity will be dedicated to raising the empty bucket.
Twice the weight, almost twice as deep (as you say) and two feet wider than the standard bucket for the LA1065 spec'ed below.
Width, in (mm)...
They are chrome plated which has become thinner, cheaper and less effective over time. I've never seen or heard of a stainless steel hydraulic cylinder rod.
Best to actually measure the bucket you are considering. Many will not be 96" inside. Next to none will have a 25" deep floor that will keep a 4' wide sheet from simply tipping out frontwards.
Any cover I can envision would serve to trap moisture and exacerbate corrosion issues. Fluid film or common grease would do better. For usage like yours (and mine when I had a 3pt backhoe) I'd apply when you know the backhoe project is done and the next is still unscheduled.
The OPC controller isn’t recognizing the seat switch signal. Seat switch, wiring or the OPC controller are possible causes. I can’t tell from here what the exact cause is so I said there is a fault in the circuit. A simple seat switch replacement might well be a waste of money. A blown fuse is...
When Bush Hog introduced the feature it was touted as protection for the deck.
you don’t see mower deck baffles to the center (inside) of the blade cutting edges.
It wasn't directed at you and I wasn't referring to running a small square baler. I try not to read or react to anything you post and I sure don't need schooling on small square balers. I spent half my life running them and much of the other half keeping them running properly for others.
FYI...
Frontier doesn't design or manufacture anything. Frontier is a collection of implements sourced from short line manufacturers and rebranded as Frontier and sold by John Deere and their dealer network.
Make the access hole bigger to allow direct access to the blade bolt. Much easier than removing the stump jumper/ blade bar. There's a very small probability of a bent stump jumper/blade bar and a very high probability that the access hole isn't properly located, especially if both blade bolts...
I'd call it the rod end hose for the backhoe bucket cylinder. I too would use a length of wire attached to the old and new hose to facilitate the replacement. Using a piece of threaded rod or a male/male hydraulic fitting to couple the hoses together will create a rigid section 4"-6" long that...
I've only logged in once on each device since the format change. I'm still logged in every time I come back using Safari to view the full website on an iPad and iPhone.
That engine configuration has been discontinued. Anything that it was installed in will be/has been repowered and rebadged.
there's too much negative aura surrounding the B3350, ZD1511 and F3960.

you have the correct filter.
Hone the cylinder bore, dress the gouges in the piston so it doesn't damage the bore any more and put it back together with new seals. As long as the cylinder bore doesn't damage the seals and the piston doesn't damage the cylinder bore it will work just fine. Worry more about the cylinder bore...
Don't get too excited about flat rates. Equipment manufacturers develop them mainly as a guide for warranty repair reimbursement. Which typically means it's their self-generated guide for minimizing labor payments to dealers.
Unlike the auto industry very few tractor repair shops bill on a flat...
Probably not one in ten tractors of that age show accurate hours of use. Learn how to evaluate tractors by condition or hire someone to do it for you. A well kept Ford 5600 could be a great choice for your uses. FYI all Ford x600 models have a manual shutoff cable like many diesels built before...
Group 51 and 51R are fairly common CUT batteries and would fit your space. 51's have NewHolland applications and the 51R's are used in some Kubota's and Deeres.
Vicon was a pioneer in the disc mower market and has built probably as many disc cutter bars as anyone except maybe Kuhn. Their hay tools are generally well received and liked.
Can you determine what TYM model was rebadged by Cabela's? It's not like TYM designed a clean sheet tractor line for sale at a sporting goods store. A 3rd function kit for a specific TYM (or maybe even a sister Mahindra) model might be an easier find.
Sometimes you just have to plow new ground. Buy a 3rd function kit compatible with your tractor then get any additional fittings or different hoses required to fit the loader.
You're experiencing part of the charm of a low production number tractor fitted with an aftermarket loader. Off the...
Before you resort to splitting the tractor (which you may well end up doing anyway) lube the clutch cross shaft with your favorite penetrant where the shaft is supported in each side of the clutch housing.
If the Baldwin website or a Baldwin retailer can't cross my tractor to their filter I'd not be interested in Baldwin filters. Relying on keyboard jockeys for that kind of information isn't something I'm about to do. Your mileage may vary.
If the foam added as much rigidity as some foam products do it's entirely possible the drive failure is related to the foam filling.
foam filled tires on wheel type skid steers in conjunction with steel over tire tracks is a big no-no due to accelerated wheel bearing wear and the potential for...
Connect an open ended hydraulic hose to a loader or rear remote quick connect fitting. Pump the majority of the oil into buckets using a control valve to start and stop the flow. Use a smaller pan to drain the housings after draining the system using the pump and hose.
The ZD1511 does not use DEF. it has a reformer based exhaust after treatment system. User results have been mixed at best, software updates have helped the system reliability. Do your research before you buy. The ZD1211 does not use the same system.
I am considering upgrading my pickup. No trailering, not a work truck, just a daily driver. There are a couple 2017 Canyons on dealer lots that look interesting. Both are V6s, one 2wd SLE, one 4wd SLT. Anyone have opinions or experiences to share? Full size trucks are too big, too tall and not...
It is all nonsense. Buy the power you need and the best tire style to fit the soil/surface conditions then add enough weight to make it work.
6 pages of blather summarized in one sentence.
I don’t know much about Challengers but I share Lou’s concerns about any CVT with those hours. And I will guarantee the mowing equipment will be good for scrap only.
I am reposting this from another forum for the benefit of those that claim they do not need safety equipment or devices and stuff like this only happens to the other guy.
Tomorrow will mark 2weeks since I was run down by my little utility tractor. I might have been out of UAB hospital and into...
See my earlier post re: Jon Kinzenbaugh. Inform yourself. This is history repeating itself. You might also want to investigate just how much R&D Deere did to develop Precision Planting, who is (or was) an independent competitor of Deere.
I'm looking for brand recommendations for replacement tires for my 7K trailer. Load Range C or D. Low mileage requirements but will be making long trips when it is being used. Not overloaded.
Serviced the finish mower, unhooked it today. Brought the snow blower in from the lean-to and set it on a dolly in the enclosed barn and hooked up the back blade and pinned on the front plow. probably clean up the zeroturn and put it to bed and mount chains on the plow tractor tomorrow. I always...
I happened to notice that TBN is creeping up on a quarter million members. That led to me poking around the members page and I discovered a couple things about my own time here:
In September I will have been participating here for 14 years. I was among the first 1250 to join TBN. Of those who...
Time for a new hose machine for the dealership. We use Weatherhead Coll-O-Crimp U series fittings 1/4" to 3/4" and probably average a couple or three hoses per day. Tell me your likes and dislikes of crimping equipment you use on this style fitting, and where any recent purchases were made...
Probably should have posted on the Front Porch, or other generic forum, but I wanted to wish all my friends here on the Ford/New Holland forum a Merry Christmas and healthy, prosperous new Year!
The only place the A/C drains can logically be run is down through the cab pillars. Look at the bottom front of the cab at the bottom of the 'A' pillars. If not there, check under the fenders at the bottom of the 'B' pillars if your cab has 'B' pillars. Then check the rear cab corners.
There's a thread there by a new member that I find disturbing. Please review and respond as you see fit. "Free house" or somenthing similar.
Thanks,

I didn't say it was a big deal, or that it shouldn't happen. I said I didn't recall anyone asking for an AGCO forum before now. There have been several forums added to this site in the time I have been a member. Presumably the webmasters reacted to a percieved need in those cases. Jumping down...
Anyone got input on a 5' TaylorWay tiller? I see one in an upcoming auction. Forward rotation, seems to be chain drive. It would probably do what I ask of it. Opinions and experiences welcome.
How does one go about resetting the wrench icon that indicated a service interval has elapsed on an L3830 HST with a digital dash? I am a New Holland tech that services several Kubotas along the way, and this issue came up today. The customer can't find their op manual, which surely has this...
I hope the title made you curious. I have thought about posting this for a while, and this morning is the time.
Many of us use our tractors in winter, and store them in unheated buildings or out of doors altogether. Here are a couple things I try to do year-around, but especially in cold weather...
The original poster says International (Navistar) is the undisputed leader in the truck industry. That's a stretch by any measure.
He goes on to say Case and (International) Harvester are (were?) "two different divisions of one famous windy city manufacturer". The Case brand was never owned by...
