Why so much titan attachments hate?

I have the L2296 Bucket with bolt on edge, I believe it's a heavy duty bucket. I upgraded to it because I knew I'd be doing regular gravel work on my long driveway. I've since also learned the hard way that a heavy duty bucket with bolt on edge, is challenged by frozen gravel piles :) I've...

Why so much titan attachments hate?

Lol, yes, I'm aware of that. I won't be digging or using heavy materials. Truly this capacity is for hauling compost and other things (some snow, some mulch maybe). More expensive than a tarp, less expensive than some carts, particularly if I needed an ATV to pull them (because my tractor...

Why so much titan attachments hate?

The thread is old, the issue of quality is still relevant. I'm very interested the 84 inch high capacity bucket: 84-in High Capacity Skid Steer Bucket But confused by several things: The depth/height dimensions of 49 and 40 inches, and struck capacity of 35 cu ft sound great, I want as much...

    New kubota tractor advice

Having spent my autumn picking rocks out of my field, if the rock is of medium/small size and visible, I can grapple it out. If it's a big/awkward/partially buried thing then my grapple does a terrible job, and I have to fetch the pallet forks to dig. I wonder of those stump buckets are good...

So I've been chasing this a bit, and the ship date has moved up as well, in time for spring cleaning :) I'm really curious if anybody in TBN has this model. 84-in High Capacity Skid Steer Bucket I had to call them (palletforks.com) to get the steel thickness, commonly provided for other...

    Tractor Shopping

Yeah, those are interesting. If I had it to do over again, I'd probably buy that instead of the bucket spade I bought. My bucket spade doesn't clamp to my bucket because of the bolt-on edge, and it's unwieldy on my pallet forks, though it gets the job done for digging holes for trees, which is...

    Tractor Shopping

Sounds like you're used to the issues with hills and stability then. My grapple is definitely my most used thing for tree cleanup. I both like that it's a pretty stout grapple (so I don't accidentally bend it when I'm doing foolish things with large pieces of wood), but it's also harder to...

    Tractor Shopping

You didn't mention whether you'd be cutting fields. Rolling hills could be dangerous, tractors can be unstable on hills, consider the kind of terrain you'll be driving on and buy a tractor to suit. If you're going to be hauling whole trees, you'll need a heavier tractor, so that the tractor is...

Curious if this is of any practical use at all if you don't have a hydraulic top link. All I can think is that I would put the toplink...

Leaf Blower Recommendations (caveat: wife needs to use it ;) )

I bought into the Milwaukee electric tool ecosystem last year, including the string trimmer. I definitely bought it with my wife in mind, though she has yet to use it. Your wife may be content with a remote control string trimmer (i.e. YOU). Anyway, a thing about the electric tools, at least...

Choosing attachments for L4701, looking for suggestions.

Other rotary cutter thoughts. I spent extra for the slip clutch. The guys who used to work the field would go through a LOT of sheer bolts, and I really deslike dealing with those. I'm happy with my decision, basically I never have to stop what I'm doing in the field. I'm also glad I bought...

Choosing attachments for L4701, looking for suggestions.

My medium duty landpride rotary cutter does just fine on a field I cut only once a year. By the time I cut it late in the fall, it is filled with saplings 4-5' tall. As long as you have the minimum guidline of 5 PTO HP per foot of rotary cutter, you're probably fine. In my case I have...

Would you buy a 54" or 60" deck?

I have two-ish acres of grass in a highly contoured property (stone walls, gardens, ornamental trees). I considered a 60" but there there are passages where it wouldn't fit nicely, where even the 54" is tight. I'm quite happy with the 54". If I'm on a clear flat piece of yard then I'm just...

Comments, thoughts, recommendations (needed) on tractor purchase decision

You didn't say what kind of driveway maintenance you had in mind. If you are maintaining a gravel driveway that might wash out after heavy rains, you're going to want to haul gravel in your bucket and use a rear blade, box blade, or some other rear attachment to grade the driveway. Also if...

Upgrade seat in L or MX?

I am not unhappy with the stock seat in my MX5400. It's a nice tradeoff of comfort and ability to feel what the tractor is traversing on my awful hilly rock and depression pocked field (so that I proceed carefully). I did seek an upgraded seat on my zero turn mower though. On the tractor...

I'm looking at that one two. I like the depth, though for my primary purposes I'd be hauling leaves and other yard debris, though I'd like to use it with a bit of snow too. I'm wondering if it's worth the additional ($1699 shipped - $1139 shipped) = $569 compared to the Tomahawk...

    New kubota tractor advice

You have to look at the grapple/rock thing situationaly. My grapple has pretty stout composition. I wouldn't worry about rocks if all I'm doing is using the forces the way it's designed to be used, i.e. close the grapple on the rock. I'd worry more if I was trying to put sideways forces on...

It's hard to tell how large those rocks are. Does your current tractor have 4WD? If not that'd be a thing to consider. I looked at the L3901, and ended up going for the MX5400 because I wanted wider wheel base and overall more weight and oompf. I'm pleased with it, but even with the MX5400...

    Kubota MX5400, thoughts?

If the OP is, as he said, just doing a large scale lawn mowing, and the ground is flat and generally dry, then 2WD would be fine. If he's skipping the FEL then that suggests, again, that 2WD might be fine. So perhaps we have the rare application here where the tractor really is just a one...

    Kubota MX5400, thoughts?

About the only time I'm _not_ using my 4WD is when I'm driving on the lawn. Hills, snow, mud, you name, it, I rarely bother to turn off the 4wd now. Also hopefully reduces rutting by decreasing the amount of rear wheel spinning when I'm pushing the bucket into gravel or ditches.

I have the MX5400 HST and love it. I pull a 6' rotary cutter but in my case it's difficult hilly terrain and it's only annually, at which point the field is full of 4-6' saplings that take hold every year. Sometimes it's slow going but not for any lack of power. There's only so much you can...
