house (noun) - a hole in the ground into which one shovels money. 💰 I'd hang onto it if I were you, but your asking price isn't unreasonable if you really need to sell IMHO.

    425 filter and fluid change…again

Anyone know if there's an equivalent part number for the hydraulic oil filter for the PT-425? I've been using these for the engine oil and I'm thinking the next time I need to change that $@#!^ filter it's getting one with the nut on it....(or I guess I could weld one on)...here's the link for...

Been so busy I haven't had time to write! FINALLY got the filter off thanks to @ponytug advice and a newer, larger, beterrer strap wrench with a 1/2" drive with a 36" breaker bar. Result: an utterly crushed filter later and....we're good! (y) Of course, then you need to get the filter...

    PT-425 50 Hour Service Issues

Huh. My manual shows the rear of the dog bone getting lubed every 8 hours, but the front (where you have to remove the covers) is listed as a 50 hour item. That said, I can DEFINITELY see why one would be much better off doing both at 8.

    PT-425 50 Hour Service Issues

Thank you everyone for the input! Ordered another filter wrench that may help. The idea I had that I didn't voice right off is to "work it hot" by changing the hydro filter with the oil hot enough to turn on the cooler fan. Not my idea of a good time, but sometimes the hot oil causes things...

    PT-425 50 Hour Service Issues

Oh no, I've been doing other regular lube every 10 hours or fewer. At 50 hours is the first "big service" for the hydraulic oil filter, the forward center pivot, etc. I decided to change the engine air filters as well as the oil and filter anyway, even though Koehler says you can go 100...

What did you do with your Power Trac today?

We have two wells Peter (40' and 140' deep), but we also capture rainwater off the buildings. 1000 gallon rain tank plus another 750 in an old cistern that captures off the 100+ year old house. A two inch rain on the 40x80' building will fill the 1000 gallon. The tank on my rig is 65 gallons...

Used a combo of the front mower and a heavy roller to mow and roll at the same time with the PT-425. Power Trac Review in JLC

Yeah, good article @SpringHollow! The author is right about remembering to watch the tilt on the bucket on the top of the lift arc, especially with a rolling load like a big tree branch. (Dude needs a grapple bucket for that work. 😉 ) One thing the author didn't mention is that heavy loads...

You'd think if the key switch was off you should get the same as the bench voltage, but that's not what's happening right? Agree with m5040 that a quick trip to the auto parts store or an Interstate Batteries shop is a good thing to check and rule out if possible. Sounds like some kind of...

    PT1445 stalls out, won't start

Glad it turned out to be something that you had prior experience with! Looking at the broken wire, any chance of finding some solid core wire that gauge? New gas cap for PT-425

Just reading the description, the MET Impex looks like a high carbon steel.....very hard, but not very tough. If the bucket is wearing out from abrasion rather than impact it might be a good idea. If the wear out is more bending the other steel could be better choice. Boron tends to add...

    Repair of LMT

Well since it's bending I like your idea of adding bars to it @ponytug . As far as material, buckets seem to either fatigue out (crack) or wear through (abrasion-related holes). You're certainly on the right track there @MossRoad - HP is HP, doesn't matter to the pumps what makes it! What might matter in certain circumstances is "area under the torque curve." This governs how quickly the engine falls off that peak HP once the load builds up. A diesel typically has a...

I just received a PT-425 and that shipped with a fully welded aluminum tank. Maybe you can get one of those for your PT-422?

    Bought a second 425

Congrats on the new one! How many hours did the first one go before "going over the waterfall?"

    Power Trac 3D Printable Goodies

Center Cup Holder Provides critical hydration to Power Trac operator No support material required if printed with the ears up (or the hole you stick your beverage in face down on the print bed) I used a material called Tough PLA for this...should be standard equipment!

    Power Trac 3D Printable Goodies

Hydraulic fitting slip covers Covers the larger fittings when not in use No support material is required I used inexpensive PLA for these...not as fancy as some you can buy from the store, but effective, cheap, and easy to print. Rescale these as needed in your slicing software for other...

    Power Trac 3D Printable Goodies

Thought I'd start a new thread for 3D printable goodies for use with Power Trac equipment. Some of these items will probably also be useful for other brands, however some are a uniquely PT thing. For others posting in this thread in the future, please note the following with each item: Item...

    PT-425 has arrived!

Sure! Do you have a 3D printer? If so I can post the STL file. It prints pretty easily as a single material print with no support structures needed. If you don't have a 3D printer I can set it up via a really good US 3D print company I use for work and you can order it from them to your...

    PT-425 has arrived!

Yup! Used a material called "Tough PLA" that's a bit more durable than standard 3D print plastic. The filament material is made in the USA too, which is kinda unusual.

    PT-425 has arrived!

Added a very important feature to my PT-425...probably should be standard equipment!

    PT-425 has arrived!

Oh yeah....dozer folks get all excited if there's no paint on the blade....paint 'em and its GONE in an hour or two in the dirt. Still, I'd like it to at least START nice!

    Power Trac 425/1430 feel/size compared to SCUT/CUT

@tommott77 - On the turning circle with the PT-425, it's VERY tight. Much tighter than my friend's 2-series Deere for sure. More importantly for my purposes, when you've got it "on the stops" it doesn't tear the turf, even with the bar tires on mine. Very pleased with the turning radius so far!

How many teeth should I add to my 4 in 1 bucket/tooth mount style-Beast Mode

Well the gas axe would like to have a word about that...😆 But yeah, things are never quite the same when you "unweld" stuff for sure. I'm with the odd number of teeth so there's one in the middle and go bolt on....mostly so I can have that bolt hole (and maybe a couple of friends) to bolt a...

What did you do with your Power Trac today?

Spread fertilizer on 3 acres and clover seed on 1 acre of bare ground. PT-425 ran like a champ...and I'm actually surprised at how little fuel it consumed doing it too. (y)

    PT-425 has arrived!

Didn't run into anything today, but I was also being super careful since you mentioned it! (y) I DID get up to a pucker factor of 5 or so when I misjudged the steepness of a slope I was moving parallel to and started wondering if I was about to perform a ROPS test. 😱 No harm no foul this...

    PT-425 has arrived!

Used the spreader today for the lawn and to seed clover on the area that will become the new orchard. One thing I didn't like about the spreader is that there's no mechanism to control the flow rate out of the hopper precisely. The cable that opens and closes the bottom port / door is kind of...

    PT-425 has arrived!

Magnet test fails, so it's either aluminum or a low-magnetic stainless. Very good job on the welds on it.

    PT-425 has arrived!

Our new PT arrived this week! Here's some initial pictures... Ours is the small one. The red one was a factory rework heading up to Wisconsin. There was a fair amount of paint damage in shipping, so first stop after unloading was into the shop for some rework. PT is going to ship me...

    Planning a PT-425

aaaAAAHHHaaa....that makes a bit more sense. It actually looks like there's two different QC connectors up front, one for the PTO and one for the 3rd function valve.

Quick question...I see in the price list that the hydraulics are listed at 3/8", but they sure look like standard 1/2"...anyone know?

    Neat machine @m5040 - congrats!

    PT-422 Electric Conversion.......Done!

Or one could rotate the motor-pump stack vertically and stack the batteries too. All a matter of how much work one wants to put in! As crazy as this sounds, Tesla once considered a "power trailer" for the Model Y that would essentially be a tow-behind battery bank. Could do that here too!

    Add A Grapple?

The challenge with these Power Tracs is that I keep seeing cool tools for them. This keeps up I'll have to use the Power Trac to build a new barn to hold more Power Trac attachments. Is there any cure for this addiction?
  135. B

    And finally Tram problems

Did you get to the bottom of your mystery @woodlandfarms ? I think @m5040 has some good advice there. Beyond those suggestions, how clean is your hydro oil? Any chance some creeping crud for into something important?
  136. B

    Add A Grapple?

That adapter is super cool @PowerTracManiac - nicely done! Probably a little much for my planned PT-425, but if you have the machine to rig it looks like a slick solution! Do you use that with hydraulic driven attachments too, or just "passive" tools like forks and buckets?

That's a good point. Not a huge purchase in the face of everything else and it's certainly cheaper than a separate fork lift!

Interesting idea! I almost went with the 4-in-1 bucket but decided that I was going to be moving a LOT of mulch and that extra capacity would help.

    Planning a PT-425

Been reading the forum here for a while but ready for a first post now - hi Everyone! :) We're starting a new project...a 1-2 acre orchard / park...and that's a bit more work than I really want to do by hand! Looked at Deere, Kubota and Massey seriously...not many Kioti dealers around...
