As a new shopper/buyer you hear John Deere and Kubota are number 1 and 2 in sales. I would guess day to day and depending on the source they flip flop. Who is nipping at their heals and bringing up the rear in the number 3 spot??

I also during my tractor purchase questioned the somewhat noise from trans. The dealer said YES that is normal and it was present in both the SA324 and 221 I test drove. The 221 was a bit more noticeable I suspect due to only 1 speed. Git-R-Done

OK my dealer had the SA221 with FEL. He was waiting on the M60SA MMM (should be in tomorrow). Does that mean that the mid PTO on the tractor is not factory wired during the build and the dealer will have to set up the mid PTO? Git-R-Done

Yes U R correct sir (Ed McMahon). That is why I said Yanmar docs say the M60SA which is the 60" mower for the SA221 is also a drive over, BUT I have not seen the 221 MMM install on video.

When comparing Yanmar to let's say John Deere the dealers want to say "Oh the JD advantage is the drive over deck quick connect system". They pretty much will argue to the death if you say Yanmar also is a drive over. In all fairness there may be a couple addtl steps, but not enough to NOT buy...

Thanks, they make it so hard. To many brands and models, economy version deluxe. Yanmar at least doesn't do the economy and here is the same tractor in deluxe.

Pretty much going 329 just because it is a bit bigger than 221, but not enough that it will affect my mowing I don't think. Plan go to dealer in AM with check book in one hand and a stick in the other. Still have some negotiating to do.

Yep, sound advice. I do not have a trailer and plan to ask IF I can come pick up trailer and bring tractor in for service at no charge if needed. They of course will deliver after sale and seem to be good folks small dealer 2 locations so I expect that I can borrow if needed.

Yep, not sure what other manufacturers are directly involved in production and build making sure company standards and quality control. Only the Yanmar engine is built and not overseen by JD. I'm sure there are misc parts that are not JD build, but the major components appear to be.
