From the bed of my Polaris works great. I have a switch on the dash to control the pump.

I use my 25 gallon 12 volt sprayer for herbicides both on the yard and the pasture. It's trailer mounted and has a 5' boom that sprays about an 8' pattern. It's really better suited to the yard than the pasture. I have a 55 gallon 3-pt mounted, PTO driven sprayer that I use for insecticides and very, very occasionally herbicides in the wide open parts of the pasture. It has a a single post broadcast spray. What size you get depends on how much you have to spray. Even with the 25 gallon tank, I have to refill it about 4 times to cover the whole yard. If you are going to use it to spray herbicides, get a boom on it. You'd be surprised how far the spray can drift even with just a light breeze. Don't ask me how I know. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I have a 16 gal model from TSC. It is just right to fit on the back rack of my ATV. It has the spray wand plus a small boom with only two spray heads. But those spray about 8' width and is great for spraying the yard with broadleaf week killer. I also use it to spray Roundup on my fence rows. It would also be good for spraying insecticide on pecan trees and such if they are not too tall.

I have a 25 gallon pull behind the lawn mower. Used to use it with insecticide to kill fleas over the entire yard, but since the advent of topical flea medications for dogs I no longer have to spray the yard. Now use it to kill bugs and spray fungicide on my newly growing hedges, also use it to spray cleaner or bleach on the house to kill mildew.

QUESTION ........

Mine has a white “poly” tank, it’s from Nothern Tool. I would like to spray roundup from it but I’m afraid of residual in the poly killing my bushes when I use it to spray insecticide. Anyone have experience with dual use? Is there enough residual to harm plants?

Not if you wash it out thoroughly after using Round-Up.

Like Bird said - wash the tank out thoroughly, and cycle a few gallons of clean water thru the sprayer hose and gun.

There are some neutralizer products for this purpose, but I have never used any, but may be worth investigating.

Bird and Bushog, thanks. You wouldn’t think there would be much residual, but I have so many planted and so much time invested I have been afraid to try it. I had wondered if there was a neutralizer but never investigated. Just used it yesterday but next time around I might get brave and try it, maybe on a portion and wait a week just to make me feel safe.
