17 Hours 4075r, It started making an odd sound. I needed to move 2000lb pallets of pellets and could not pick them up.

Pretty bad luck with this one for sure! Then to have 2 of you guys with stories of others... pretty bad for Deere. Corporate should ok some replacement loaners for the dealership.

I have lifted some logs about 24"x 20 feet long with no problem, no idea what they weigh using pallet forks and grapple. It has never failed to pick up anything. I know just how you feel about not wanting to keep it. I tried to get the dealer to extend the bumper to bumper warranty 2 years, after all of the things that were wrong with it. While the salesman agreed, nothing came of it. With John Deere track record lately I will keep it at least another year before trading it off. Hope they get yours figured out .

I'm unsure how two mechanics and a salesman at the first dealership kept saying it worked perfectly and would not listen. It was so apparently weak on any lift.

Of all the tractors before it, I love that it shifts perfectly; the steering is also the best. However, my faith in the dealership is greatly diminished because they ignored how weak the loader is. It's hard to fathom why they could see the problem with the loader. After the second dealer grabbed the 4044m/400e, lifted the same pallet at idle, and curled it, they understood my 440r was lifting more like a 300e.

Update: Deere refused to take back the tractor over the phone. They had zero empathy for all the issues or for the fact that we were down on so much work due to the loader. One dealer said they would bring something out for free of charge to unload upcoming shipments as they were unsure about the repairs. As the dealer requested, I took it home last week until they could further investigate. I will have to call them again tomorrow to see if I can drop it off again.

Sorry about your luck. Certainly not what I'd expect from Deere.

The dealer doesn't want it there possibly because if it's there a certain amount of time you might have a lemon law argument. They for sure don't want it there.

It's not pleasant but ask an attorney if you want anything to happen. Nothing moves the needle unless you move it. Just my two cents.

I would have thought the same thing a few years ago with Deere. This is what I found this morning. A new hydraulic leak on top of the transmission. It looks like the tee is leaking. It just never ends with this tractor.

Update: We had to get a loaner for deliveries. They only had a 4044m/400e, which lifted 2060-lb pallets from 48/49 inches. I had to throttle up, but the tractor lifted and curled it. Also, we unloaded a couple of 1900 lbs pallets from a 53-foot semi with no issues. Our tractor does not even budge them. We still have no timeframe for the repair; even though we requested the tractor be returned, the selling dealer refused. The driveshaft cover failed a second time on Sunday, coming from another part of the property. It was insanely loud as I was running over 20 mph, and it really shredded itself.


I forgot to add that they replaced the pump that was flowing 8.5 gpm with a brand new one, and it is now flowing 8 gpm. I stated that the JD specs show 11.2 gpm but was told they are unsure what it should be.
