2305 with 47" 2 stage snowblower question

Well it's still not right. I was out tonight and if I have the blower up in the air a couple inches it's relatively quit. But as I lower it to float it rattles the whole machine. If I put down force on it it get's even worse. So bad in fact, my butt gets numb from the vibration. I took the blower off, hitch, shafts. Checked bearings, chain, all lubed up. Put it back on and nothing changed. I'm starting to thing I will have to take the gears off and check the bearing behind the sprocket. I'm going to call the dealer first and see if I can get them to take care of it. Then my 07 Honda Rincon that is fuel injected won't start. I'm not having a good week.

That isexactly the way mine is. I had it at the dealer 3 -4 times last year before the snow ended. So far this year we have not got enough snow to work it yet. If you find a resolution be sure and post it here. I have already checked all that I can think of checking phase angles, chain tension/alingment, pto shafts and impeller shaft. Everything appears to be in order and both the dealer and myself are stumped. If we get some snow and I can get it to break shear bolts I will be demanding a replacement this time.

I too thought my 2210/47" snowblower sounded noisier this year too- was breaking a lot of auger shear bolts (in fact, when I would check them after 5-10 minutes of use, they were loose)- finally loosened the two allen screws on the shaft, pulled it out and found alot of ice and dirt in there- cleaned it out and tightened it and the shear bolt down and so far have not broken any- still very noisy when down but that goes away when it's full of snow. I also adjusted the chain to 3/8" deflection- it was very loose.
It's working now and we are getting a ton of snow- I'll be out there tonight to see how she does.

My dealer is supposed to come out today to hear it. If this keeps up I will make a video and send it to JD corporate. There has to be something that they have seen to help us. If I can't get it resolved I will just use the front blade and look into other options as to what to do with the blower. I will keep you updated.

The dealer was just here. As soon as he heard it he said "Bearings" The ones behind the sprockets. He took the whole machine with him. A couple days and I'll update you on what happens.

I think I should check the bearings on mine. I’ve been using it since 2003 and haven’t replaced anything on it yet.
It does vibrate when it has no load on it.

successfully cleared the driveway last night w/out losing any shear bolts- thing was still noisy though. As I said before, it seems noisier this yr- I bet my bearings are shot too.

It's a 47sb, but to find it on jdparts you'll want to do a wildcard search for
47* to find it.

I see it out there, I just am not sure what parts you need.

You guy's have me all nerves and jerking with this blower. My 47 blower is 1 yr. old, used it 5 hours last year, none this year. I thought it was pretty quit till I went out and ran it, It,s pretty noisy. All my set screws are tight and have lock -tite on them. The only thing I do see is JD calls for a 3/16” of deflection on the chain drive. That’s about what it is but it still seems very tight to me.
