65 Ford 2000 3 Cylinder

The reason I asked is because I just got a ford 420 backhoe and it has it on there also it moves in three positions but dosent change anything? So would that be a 2 speed pro on that tractor?

Does that tractor/tlb have a shuttle shift on it? i am not familiar with any of the older Fords that had a lever behind the clutch pedal

No but it has two reveres! Two in low and two in high

Sounds like you have the old 6X4 tranny. Dunno what the extra lever is for though. Could you post a picture of it?
I would like to see it.

Will a drawbar from an 8N fit my 75 2000? I was given one the other day by a friend who no longer has the 8n and has no use for it.

If you're asking about the belly drawbar I am almost certain that they are different. I'm not saying it won't fit somehow, I just know the original drawbar was different.

That's a nice tractor you found there. You are fortunate find power steering on a 2000, that was an option.

My first tractor was a '72 2000 gasser. Ran it for a decade and still have fond memories of it.

The lever behind the clutch engages and diengages the pto. It is transmission driven on this model. Only one speed.

For a rotary cutter (bush hog) I would stick with a 5' model for brush. A 6' would be fine if you are just in weeds that are mowed a couple times a year. Push the clutch a few extra feet before you want to stop when you are bush hogging. A 6' finish mower would not be a problem. I ran a 6' flail behind mine for a couple of summers.

Steering can also be a problem if you get too big of stuff on the three point hitch. The front end will get light pretty fast. I would recommend a couple front weights if you're going to try running anything real heavy on the three point.

Yes, I was referring to the belly drawbar.

He also had a spreader bar and that fit just fine.

Thanks for you input on the mowers. Yes, I am looking for a 6' finish mower.

What do you consider 'heavy' for a 2000 w/o any front weights, 500# ?
