Glad I saw this coming during the non crisis era, 1500 rounds purchased for 399? in 1998, still have at least 50%, twelve surplus 30 round clips at 5.00 each and one H e l l fire trigger clip on assembly. I have always made it a habit to purchase 2x the amount I plan on shooting that day, so it really accumulates over a life time. I still have the old Remington accelerators for my 30-30 and 308, as well as a couple boxes of black talons. Some pretty cool stuff over the years, also saved every gun box I ever had, some dating back 25 years or better, tucked away in the attic. Keeping stocking, but do it when the storm blows over and don't loose sight.

In the "kick my own arse department" I had the opportunity to buy up to 1000 30 rounders new in the bag for $5 each.. so I bought enough to compete with.. and said, "aw, who need that many magazines".. I didn't have the money anyway... I wish I had borrowed the money now to bought them all. .. like I said, kick my own......

I am not sure what you are asking me.. I am puzzled.. The mags I am referring to are 30 round aluminum mil spec mags with the green follower for the ar-15. I bought several.. I wish I could have bought them all.. I have never thrown away any magazines.

From another source: "AR-15/M16 magazines were initially designed to be disposable and not reused, hence the lightweight aluminum design. The US Military, always keen to save a buck, soon decided that the magazines were not disposable and reused them. Soon after this decision the design of the M16 magazine changed to allow them to be more easily disassembled and cleaned."

My surplus one has the removable bottom plate, so you can remove the spring assembly for cleaning, its the same as we had in boot 1986

I saw two ARs yesterday that were listed for around $900.00 a few weeks ago, listed at 5k yes 5k. I couldn't believe it. I called the gun store guy out and he said he already sold two at that price and said go find another new AR in town. I don't need on just found it interesting.

The buyers of those rifles are going to feel like idiots when this all blows over.
