I'm looking at the Agco 2027 4wd, Kubota GR2100 4wd and BX 1850 or 2350 for mowing my hilly 2.5 acres. All are diesel and have drive shafts which is important to me having gone through many a belt on other garden tractors. The Agco and BX models have a rear PTO and modified Cat 1 3pt hith which would be useful around the property although I have a CUT for larger jobs like brush hogging. I have few obstacles for mowing but foldable rops would help around several trees (the BX models have fixed rops only, the GR has no rops and the Agco is foldable). Wondering if anyone has experience or opinions on these three models.

Have a G2160 and like it and also have a BX2230. Looked at the GR2100 and did not get it because of transmission issues, not sure of what the SN on the bad ones is. The GR2110 is supposed to have these problems fixed. Main reason have the G2160 is it is quicker and gets under the trees easy but must use the BX2230 on the wet hillsidea and also has the bagger. It is hard to beat the versatility of the the BX and the use of the 3 point and the bang for the dollar. I have heard of people removing the ROPS on the BX to get under the trees. You will have to get out and check the area that you mow and see how many trees you have and how steep the hills are and judge for yourself. After looking at the specs on the AGCO I think if I was in that price range I would want diesel.

The agco I'm looking at (Model 2027) is a 3cyl briggs-dihatsu diesel engine, 27hp engine with 58cu.in. of displacement. Interestingly, the brochure and website does not spec out this engine but it is available.

Check the Simplicity web site, since that Agco may be a Simplicity as the Massey's are. I do know the Simplicity uses the same engine.

I should have said GR2110 initially (instead of 2100). The 2110 has the new transmission I'm told. Does anyone have a GR2110 or Agco/Simplicity 2027?
Also, how does the GR2110 diesel compare to the G2160 diesel?

I've been using the gas model GR-2000 series for two seasons with no problems.I think the very early models had some thrust bearing issues in the tranny, but I had mine checked out this winter and nothing was found. The newer ones I'm sure would be fine.If you have a chance to demo one of these tactors,by all means do so.They will out-perform anything in their price class when it comes to hilly terrain.Highly recommend. Here's mine in action.

You've got a great system there. Is your GR2000 diesel? Do the Ags tear up your lawn if its a little damp? I don't have 30 degree slopes (probably 15-20 at most in some areas) but I'm trying to decide Ags vs. Turfs.

I mowed yesterday and it was damp it some spots.I noticed a few tire marks now and then, but not from sharp turns. The way the tractors are designed, the front end "pulls"through the turns, leaving no marks even at higher speeds.I would say you don't need ag's,unless you're planning on pushing snow with a blade.

The GR-2000 is gas,the 2100 is diesel.

The G2160 has the D782 engine and think it is the same as what is in the GR2100 and GR2110. Only issue that I have had is slow cranking speed in cold weather and had to use a booster pack, think I have an old battery. Just start up open up throttle and go plenty of power.

1*Since you have a cut I'd strike the 2350 and Agco 2027 from the list and go for the smaller 1850 since you don't need the larger 2350 & Agco 2027 if mowing is all you plan to do.
2*I have 2 BX1500s which are simliar/comparable to the bx1850.No way would I consider trading them for a gr2100.
My BX23 is the same as the BX2350 except for the Back Hoe. If I was going to mow your place I'd use the BX1500 rather than the BX23.
The BX1500 pucker factor is less on slopes than the BX23s.
Matter of fact I mow some areas with the BX1500 that you couldn't get me on with the BX23.
One more note the BX1500 ROPS is much shorter than the BX23 ROPS.

Exactly why I own 2 BX 1500s instead of 2 lawn or garden tractors.

You have 2 BX1500s? No kidding, really? You should let more people know!

I've measured the rops on the 1850 and the 2350 and they are within one inch of eachother. rops height and foldabillity is a concern for me when mowing (I've got a few trees to get around). Agco comes with foldable rops option, bx 1850 and 2350 can be outfitted with the bx24 foldable rops, which is very high even when folded. Becauseof my hills, I'm looking for a foldable unit that is fairly low when folded.

A lot of others list tractors and implements in their signature.
Ok now what else is new?
