Gosh, DFB, first time I've heard of a Zundapp in years. That was the first bike I ever bought, but usually don't even count it as one I owned because I didn't keep it 2 weeks. It was a used one and ran great at high speeds, but would choke down (flood) cruising at 55. When it would start to bog down you could downshift, which would rev it up, and clear the excess gas out and go again. The dealer tried working on it two or three times, then told me I just wasn't running it hard enough, so I told him if I couldn't cruise down the highway at 55 he could have it back.
And Wingnut, the '85 Aspencade was the finest bike I ever rode. Never did understand why they later dropped the digital instrument panel. It was great, and the only one I ever saw on ANY kind of machine that was always easy to read no matter how the bright the sun or how dark the night, and never any glare. It was truly amazing.
