That is a generic picture I found on the internet; apparently it's a slice of lemon.


There are quite a few recipes on the internet. As I recall, Sharn Jean's pickled okra contained garlic, but no onion or lemon.

If you're serious about finding okra, if you have Walmart there, they can probably order it for you or you can get it through Amazon or other internet sources. My daughter, who lived in Michigan for a couple of years, said okra and raw peanuts were almost impossible to find that far North.

You must be from Connecticut.
I got mayo' on subs in Mass but every one I know from CT uses vinegar.
Try it ya might like it.
I think Connecticut is the only Eastern state I've never been through.

I did try mayo on a Italian, thus the reason why I started the thread ;)
