Is anyone using the SG24 with a Speeco quick hitch? The Mechmaxx website doesn't mention if it's quick hitch compatible.
Yep, that’s exactly my setup. Works perfectlyIs anyone using the SG24 with a Speeco quick hitch? The Mechmaxx website doesn't mention if it's quick hitch compatible.
I bought the MechMaxx SG24 and after a month or more, finally used it. Shipping was not an issue, came faster than quoted. Crate is metal and well protected. Checked all torque of bolts and used. Works like a dream. Did about a dozen stumps, ranging from 6" to 36", no issues. Well, one issue, and it was operator error. Left my drawbar on and when I was grinding below ground level, it cut open the plastic sheathing and got into the driveshaft. the driveshaft fared better than the 1 1/2" drawbar. I would recommend this based on my short term use so far. Not sure how many years it will take for me to verify it's a great product, but I'm sure I will get more than my moneys worth. I only wish the chainsaw holder was tall enough to use a bar protector. Maybe I'm overthinking the need for the protector, but I always use it.
Can you share that code or a link to the video that included it?I just placed an order for some other stuff that was on sale and was able to use a 5% off code from one of their YouTube 'reviewers'.

Tighten up your 3-pt lift arms, playboy!I have the original WM. It works well and as expected. That said, it's easy to try pulling it through the stump faster than the grinding wheel can chew, which results in the unit swinging from grinding at 90 degrees to more like 70 degrees. One time early on, I angled it sufficiently to separate the PTO shaft...and guarantee you'll only allow that to happen once!!!
Based on similar design, I'm guessing over feeding is likely a common situation to avoid with the MM also.
I would have paid the extra for the WM pro version if it had been available at the time, not even knowing if the shock actually works as described.
The other thing is the outside teeth get the most abuse. I wouldn't even mount the 6 or 8 (?) teeth closest to the hub, and just save them to swap as the outside teeth get chipped down (my stumps are rock magnets!).
I bought the pro version for my 4410. As far as I'm concerned the shock could use a heavier spring. It does help but could be more aggressive. It's probably ok for a smaller tractor. One day I will play around with some extra springs and see what happens.I would have paid the extra for the WM pro version if it had been available at the time, not even knowing if the shock actually works as described.
Just curious if you know what the least expensive Vermeer unit costs.Get a stump cutter from Vermeer bro
