One sprocket is rebuilt at a cost of $90 and a several hours cutting tubing and bolting things together. I think this is going to work very well. The 1" ID tubing fits with about 0.015" clearance over the old inner sleeves/bushings. I now have a rebuilt sprocket that is tighter than factory specs. Since I have my new seal for the planetary drive the next task will be to reassemble the planetary. Hope to get that done on Saturday.

Thanks Bison. Remember that stuck drain plug? I thought your welding idea was good but I'm not good enough at welding to do it. So I turned it over to my father-in-law who spent 40 years maintaining heavy equipment. Apparently in the shop where he worked he was "the" guy who did all the welding and who got everything unstuck. He put his torch on the plug until it just began to glow. I little water to cool it down quick and she turned right out. He said that almost always does the trick.

Yes, that works too.But you said the hex was stripped out, that's why i recommended welding a nut to it.

I figured you would know how to use heat. After we heated it up we hammered a square "easy out" into the now round hex hole and turned it right out. I had never seen a square "easy out" before so that was new to me.

Today I finished reassembly of the planetary with new seal. No sweat, went together well and should work fine. The whole planetary is very easy to take apart and should be very easy to rebuild if one would ever have to.

OK Bison, I finally got several of my axles apart. The parts breakdown says there is a bearing, spacer and two seals on each end of the axle. All I actually found was a bearing and one seal. No spacer and no second seal. The seal that's in there is a one piece cartridge seal the contains both a dirt exclusion portion on the outer side and an oil seal on the inner side. It is the same type of seal that is on the sprocket outboard support bearing and the planetary drive. The inner portion of the seal locks onto the shaft and turn with the shaft while the Outer portion presses into the axle housing and turns with the axle. The spring loaded lip seal is within the cartridge and rides on the inside portion of the cartridge, not on the shaft. I ordered the two seals from the dealer according to the parts list and they aren't anything like what I find in my parts and they won't really fit properly on my axle either. This will be interesting to straighten out. I'll post some pics tomorrow.

Managed to get pics tonight. These are pics of the one and only seal on each of of my axle. The pic that shows the seal all black shows that the ID, the OD, and the outward facing side of the seal are all coated in rubber. The other pic shows the inside of the seal toward the oil. You can see an inner metal ring that has the rubber coated ID. It fits tight on the shaft and turns with it. You can also see a spring loaded lip seal that rides on the outside of the metal ring that has the rubber ID. The lip seals turns with the outer portion of the seal that is pressed into the axle housing.

I finally got to the point of talking to the seal manufacturer and they confirmed that these seals are made exclusively for ASV, they are the only seals they make with this combination of ID/OD, and the tooling to make them is actually owned by ASV. So even the seal manufacturer cannot sell me a replacement for these. I'm stuck gong through the dealer at a cost of $36 each. I hate it when this happens but such is life. The only option now would be if there is some totally different brand/style of seal that would fit the shaft and housing. I may do a little searching on that. Thanks for the link to your favorite site tlbuser but given what I said above there is no source for this seal. Maybe your source sells a different type that I can use.

That seal in your pics is the same seal as used in my 4810.
I also could not find an alternative for these seals but the dealer.
