I have this B2620 that has a BH. Wondering how difficult it is to remove and re attach. You owners of B2320/2620/2920 that have a BH that you have taken off and re installed, what do you say?
I had a BX25 but never removed the BH. Had a BX2660 and removed the front bucket one time and like to have never got it back on even though many owners said it was a piece of cake.
OK experienced owners of the small B tractors with BH....... tell me how easy it is to get it off and put it back on or do I sell my implements/buy another tractor just for implements?:)
Looked for Utube/videos demonstrating it but only found ones for the BX25.

Hi John

I too had the bx25 and then traded that on the B2920. I found them both to be about the same level of effort. It gets easier each time. For me removal is pretty easy, but getting it back on takes some time backing it up and aligning pins etc. plus it seems like the hydro hoses always need to be just a few inches longer.

I would love to build a dolly but most of the time I have to take the bh off and on in the gravel driveway. So I try and select the same area in my driveway each time for consistency.

Practice makes perfect they say, I just don't have the need to swap that often. When I do swap, I always think how cool it would be to have multiple tractors ha . Just follow the directions and don't get too frustrated, you will be fine.

I have a b2320 with a woods 70x backhoe which is similar to the kubota set up. Removal time ... 5-7 minutes. Replacement ... Maybe 15 minutes to align things and reconnect hydraulics. The one thing I don't have to worry about is removal of three point hitch arms with the woods set up, which I think is something you will need to do with kubota backhoe. Once you get the hang of it, you will not hesitate to swap things on and off.... But the first few times you may be frustrated.

Thanks for the replys. I had the multiple tractors (BX25 & B2320) mostly for this reason but traded both of them for the B2620 so back to this same issue. I'll only have to do it once a year during spring to attach the tiller and do any other jobs at the same time requiring rear attached implements and can do it on pavement.
Guess I'll find out in the spring and may make a dolly between now and then which looks like it will make it much easier or it does in the BX25 BH remove/attach videos.
Those with self made BH dollys, any pics or suggestions?

Do not even bother doing a Diy dolly..Go to harbor freight and but them..You cannot buy the wood ams wheels for there price.

I dislike putting by BH pn..pins are a total pita.

Got a 2620 this year and find that the loader, backhoe, blower, front plow all go on and off very easy. Muck easier than the B2200 I traded off for the 2620. I made a BH cradle out of old wood and two furniture dollies. Actually makes on and off much easier as I can move the BH to line up the pins versus trying to get the tractor lined up.

Any pics, dimensions of home made and part numbers of Harbour Freight ones that will hold the weight. I have a couple of the Harbour Freight ones but I doubt they will hold the weight of the BH or the ones I have won't. I also have wheels and loose lumber. Dimensions and pics will be appreciated. I've seen commercial ones that are tepee/triangle shaped but wondering about dimensions.

Here are a few pics of my backhoe dolly.Originally I made it for my BX25 but modified it to use with my L3240 and BH90.I find removing the backhoe with the dolly to be very easy,it is more work to attach the TPH. P1000154.jpgP1000153.jpgP1000152.jpgP1000151.jpgP1000150.jpgP1000159.jpgP1000162.jpg

Thanks for the photos. That looks like a Factory made product. I'm not a welder so in my mind I'm picturing 4"x4" wood as my material unless someone did it with 4"x4" and theirs didn't work. It looks like the weight is fairly well close to over the wheels so maybe won't use 4"x4".
I guess I can measure my BH at the contact spots to get the dimensions.
Every time I see some great welding/metal made item I almost get drawn into buying welding equipment but then I realize I've never welded and know zero/nothing about how to do it so guess it's one of those things I'll wait and learn in Heaven when I get there.:cool2:

I take my BH65 off and on my B2620 almost weekly.

Literally 2 minutes off and 2 minutes on is all it takes assuming the 3pt hitch components are not installed when I want to put the BH back on. Takes way longer to put the 3 pt hitch components on and off.

My trick is a 5' 2*4 piece of wood to help alignment when putting it on. I hook up a little diff. than the book outlines.

I back in and only need to get within 2-3" of good alignment, hook up hydro lines, use the 2*4 to pry the BH to right alignment, adjust height with stabilizer and then back into the BH, drop by lifting the stabilizers THEN use the BH bucket/dipper to push the top in for the two top pins.

2*4 to make the alignment once stabilizers get the height needed to clear the hooks makes it easy.
