Mowing b2910 mid-mount mower

Would this work: a shallow rectangular trench that the deck could fit into. Then drive off or on without having to use chocks or change the height of the gauge wheels.

I don't think it would work, you still have the front link to deal with. I can remove the mower deck in about 3 min. just by putting my jack under the front bumper. Very easy to do and can do it on the driveway or in the shop.

You don't have to use any chocks or dig any holes,I have driven our 2710 over our deck many times.I raise all the gauge wheels up,re-pin,let the deck back down(grass or gravel) un-hook the linkage and power shaft.Raise the 3-point up to get the linkage out of the way, place 3-2x6x12 blocks between front of the deck and front tires.Make sure tractor is in 4-wheel drive, and slowly back over the deck.Simply drive over the deck to reinstall. The 72"decks are built to withstand the weight of the front of the tractor,as long as you have the deck flat on the ground.

I have a 2710 with the 60" mower. What made the difference for me was the trailer I had to haul the mower on. It is a 6x12 trailer. I did not want to take the mower off/on every time I needed to trailer it. I have had very good success with the 60" deck. Sometimes the extra width would be nice but all in all, I like the choice I made.

Von, what kind of jack do you use. Do you put it right in the front in the middle.

Mike, could you clarify how many blocks you use. The way you stated the numbers confuses me a little.

Glenn,
I just use a Walker floor jack with a 5"x5" chunk of wood on the jack plate to get it in the air alittle higher. And yes I put it right in the front in the middle of the frame. It is the same as having the loader lift the front up. Like I said, it takes me under 3 min. to totally remove the mower deck. I don't change the hieght of the deck wheels at all, and it slides right out the side with out hitting anything.

I am also looking at buying a 2910 with 60" MMM. On the BX
you have a dial adjust wheel (identical to the ones on the
Kubota zero turn mowers) for adjusting cut height. How
do you adjust the cut height with the MMM's on the 2910
and 2710? Do you have to get off the tractor and repin
the guage wheels?

Thanks,
timd

Tim,

On the 2910 with the 72" deck you have to repin all four gauge wheels because the deck rides on the ground. It is not suspended as on the BX. I dont know about the 60" on the 2910 but I suspect you have to repin all the wheels, and there may be more than 4.

How do you raise the 2910 MMM for transport and lower it
for mowing? Can you do it with the 3PH? Or do you have
to pin it up to move it? I have a lot of scattered lawn areas
I have to drive between so need to raise and lower a mower
a lot.

Thanks,
Timd
