I've had a B2910 for almost 4 years. One of the best investments I ever made. Hearing these prices, I'm glad I bought mine 4 years ago and it's already paid off. It seems like I got a real bargain. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Of course, interest rates are a bit lower now, too, so that compensates a bit.

( I suppose if something goes wrong under warranty they ought to pick up it for service and I that I shouldn't have to pay for it. )

I would check on this. I thought the warranty only covered the actual pars and labor of the repair, not transportation to and from the repair facility. Also, there have been some posts here about "the closer dealers" being very reluctant to service tractors purchased elsewhere. I would think that if you didn't get a "wam fuzzy feeling" from them before the sale, I doubt that will improve if you buy elsewhere.

If you're reasonably handy, you'll be able to do the normal routine maintenance yourself. However, if you will need a lot of "dealer attention" for repairs, you might try to renegotiate with a closer dealer. Or...heaven forbid...look at a different color from a local dealer. (I can't believe I said that! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif)

Anyway, your tractor most likely won't require too much warranty work, mine didn't and I think others will concur, so it might not be a huge point. Just get all the details before you sign on the line.

Fish - Thanks for pointing out the potential issue with the bucket mods and a toothbar. A toothbar is on the immediate horizon and I have an email into Allen Markham about this since he uses a similar thing on the skidsteer buckets that he builds. Worst case it that I may have to spec or fab my own toothbar to fit this specific bucket. I figured the wear plates would not be a bad thing because I intend on using the bucket to clear snow on our driveway (which is probably 1400 foot long) The driveway is partially paved now and will eventually be fully paved.

Probably quite true - on the otherhand, they will really have no idea who I bought from, whether I bought used, or whatever. If I have a problem I will just vote with my feet and go elsewhere (and make sure to let Kubota know that I did)

I am ..... in fact to some event I'd prefer to do much of it myself as that way I know it's right (or at least know who to look to if it isn't /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif)

And I will talk with the dealer about the warranty/maintenance/who's going to do the service issues before I sign.

One other question for any of you B2910 owners out there - Does the B2910 come 'standard' with rear hydraulic outlets ?

When I first talked to this dealer he was thinking that they were optional. Reading Kubota's literature, it appears to me that they come standard. Am I mis-reading something ?

B2910’s have a Hydraulic Outlet that a valve could be piped into. Some TBNer’s have valves for their Top and Tilt hooked up using this outlet.

Thanks guys - ok, I think I get it now - basically the B2910 has a rear hydraulic outlet but it is covered by a blocking plate. To really use rear hydraulics one needs to pickup the appropriate cover plate (from Kubota) that provides outlet holes and then plumb in the necessary lines, valves, and couplers.

You are right, but it is not a plate. It's actually 2 metal blocks with tubing in between to allow for existing linkage. The block is part A in the picture. The kit part number is 6C040-95100.

Fish - You were correct - I just emailed with Markham Welding and they said that their toothbar would not fit due to the bucket mods. I don't know whether this was because it couldn't be done - or that they didn't have the correct dimensions (and had no easy way to get them) Seems kinda odd - given that their own buckets use a similar type of setup.

If anybody would care to post a couple of photos of how their toothbars fit to the bucket edge (top and bottom) I'd really appreciate it.

rswyan ... since you are already travelling somewhat, dealer shopping, I would check out Lashley's down near Seneca Lake (SE of Cambridge). They also have a store on the north side of Zanesville. When I was Kubota shopping, these guys couldn't be beat! Best prices, great service and they delivered to just about anywhere. My second choice for the purchase would have been Umkeffer's in Minerva / Massillon (probably a little closer to you). Good luck and have fun shopping around.
