WOW! that is a gorgeous engine. There is no greater satisfaction than rebuilding an engine and having it fire right up and "purr like a kitten". Not everybody can do that and you've got to give yourself a lot of credit. I like the pictures. I can almost smell the oil and feel the plastigauge! I hope I am as lucky as you are skilled when I get to heating up the glow plugs for the 1st time!

Ugh. Sorry about the gear noise. The rear is a little more daunting for me because I know its all about replacing not rebuilding. A full line of bearing separators and a little hydraulic press can be worth their weight. Hopefully you can find a simple "junkyard problem" = "one bad dog with a broken tooth".

Did you have any metal on the sump screens?

- saw your note on the pipe thread - glad you have good resources.

Good luck. I will be watching with interest.
I Haven"t pulled the filter out yet. Spent Monday taking off all of the sheet metal and dash along with the dash components. Should be able to break it in two one night this week and start checking gears and bearings.

I've been following this thread also. The engine looks awesome. Can't wait to see/hear the rest of it. At some point we'll want some sound to hear that "purr" :).

I have two videos, one while the last of the air was bleeding from the injection system and another after it smoothed out but I am having trouble getting the audio to transfer from my HTC phone to the computer. Will continue to work on getting audio. The tractor is stripped bare now and the gear boxes are open so it will be a while before it will be running again. Found four worn gears in the trans. last night. Lots of thin metal shavings in the sump screen. Will be breaking it in half and doing a trans rebuild now. Haven't priced any parts yet or checked availability. Kinda dreading to find out the prices after the shock of engine parts buying. Looking for the best quality and lowest priced rear axle hubs too if anyone has any suggestions.

You might want to take a close look at the front frame extension before things go back together. I found mine was cracked in half, the front axle was wobbling around. Cleaned and up welded all better now. Check the front axle tube assembly as the crack progressed the axle tube bushing showed extensive wear.

Enjoy your little tractor

I checked mine very close as I was cleaning and painting it. No sign of stress or cracks. The center pin has some front to back play but no side to side so I elected to wait and work on that later after the major repairs are finished. I had read a thread on TBN about a broken front B7100 frame a while back and that gave me insite to check mine real close while it was down. That may have been your thread that I checked out. Thanks for the information.

Good to hear, that's one issue you do not need to worry about
Yes that earlier post must have been one of mine

I am enjoying your engine rebuild updates
My 7100 engine has 1,500hrs still running strong right now

How is your locking rear differential doing?
My locking lever stopped functioning a few years back - to date have not taken the thing apart, however it's on the list of to do items for this winter.
I did see several possible causes and ordered / received a box load of possible parts.

I see other posts regarding different engines. Did you consider putting in a different engine? My ZD326 has a 26Hp engine that I believe would drop right in. That beast is wonderful enough power for any job I ask of it.

Kubota's sure are nice machines
Keep posting the updates for us

My diff lock worked great during the engine break-in run. I ran the tractor for about 3 hrs and checked everything for operation before tearing the rest of it apart for restoring. I thought about using a D950 engine if I could not rebuild my D750 but fortunately it was rebuildable. I tend to lean toward original when rebuilding anything but still like to watch PIMP MY RIDE.
