Big Barn’s Retirement Farm Shop

I知 not sure if itç—´ a å*µetting old issue or what. Sometimes the simplest things elude me. I already have magnetic strip bars located around the shop for keeping tools organized around benches etc..

But for some reason it was only yesterday it occurred to me to use these small round magnets for storing individual tools used for frequent adjustment on stationary tools. (Already had the magnets on hand which makes it even MORE bewildering.)

I値l put a spot of glue on each magnet when I知 certain I like the location.

Anyone have tips to share?

Nice idea. I did pick up some at Harbor Freight and never thought of the glueing them in place because they can creep or come off under heavier loads.

It only takes a dab of glue to keep it from shifting, Gale. Works well for attaching to NONmagnetic surfaces also.

Don’t forget good health is important if you want to be around to enjoy your retirement shop and life in general.

Try to eat healthy.

Yesterday’s lunch. Spinach salad with roast chicken

Mini lobster?

Crawdad, mud bug?

You are doing great. Take care of yourself better than your stuff! (I'm still trying to do well at that myself)

Re: Big Barn痴 Retirement Farm Shop

I gave up trying to buy used Racks; every time I drove to buy some they were either junk or more expensive for the good ones.

I purchased two of the Costco HD Metal Shelving; it turns out to a decent product for a decent price.

They are approximately 3' deep x 6' wide x 6' high, they also JUST happen to fit exactly where I need storage.

They are suppose to support 2 ton, so that's a lot of wood, or metal pieces, and/or boxes of STUFF !

The price is $149.00, not cheap but as it turns out top notch shelving, not trash, and they had them in stock !
I got 1 of those from Costco. I agree. I just suck at finding good deals on used stuff. Have spent too much time driving to look at overpriced junk. I have found a few gems though.

I think the Costco racks are good value.

Guess I better check out Costco. Not being street legal due to eye sight issues chasing around scouting out used stuff requires the good spruce to chauffeur and she finds little joy in trucking through the scrap/salvage emporiums and shady neighborhoods where most industrial auctions occur.
Nothing beats a low $$ find on an item suitable for repurposing, refurbishing, or reuse however.
Good for the sole.
