Well at 45k miles its time to change em. Was looking at the Wagner series. What do the other guys use?

PS..extremely disappointed at the longevity of these pads.

I know my 2012 Ecoboost is getting close but I have 50,000 hard miles on mine and no issues yet. I bet this truck has had 8,000# to 11,000# behind it for more than 20,000 miles now.

Will it need rotors also? I just put a package deal on my sons car that came with pads and rotors I got off Amazon. Company name was maybe Stoptech?

I'm not sure at this point. I need to pull the pads/rotors and inspect but I cannot be without a truck for 2-3 days while it takes to order the rotors. I will just get the pads for now and hope for the best.

Carquest CXD ceramics are really good pads for the money. About the newest thing out there.

I like Wagner pads, they're the ones I usually get unless I'm in a pinch and can't find them locally, but I'm not a fan of ceramic pads at all.

I do about 20 brake jobs per year. I stopped buying locally and worrying about rotors. I now just order all new from Brake Motive .Com

I can get front and rear kits with pads and rotors to my door for not much more than pads locally.

Yes, no reason to wait for parts, get them shipped to you. At the very least you should get the rotors turned. I've had mixed experience getting them turned. Sometimes the rotors are shot and can't be turned, other times they have a lot of metal left and can be turned. The kit I ordered for my sons 2004 GTO came with slotted and drilled rotors and high performance pads for about $350 for all 4 wheels.

I haven't had to mess with brakes much in the last 10-15 years. I did the ones on my '03 Silverado at about 60K and did not turn the rotors. From everything that I have read on-line a lot of people say that the rotors on the Ford will have to be replaced vs. turned. I will find out soon.

Good rotors should be in stock at pick whatever your favorite parts store is - NAPA, Oreilly, AutoZone etc.
