Anyway, I think I’m beginning to realize my DC salesman asked about tires for a lighter trailer. :confused3:
I mean who would put 4000lb single tires on a 10k axle?
Or maybe that’s normal. Sure don’t seem normal to me.

I questioned that earlier in this thread. There was a lot of commentary but not much real information.

Yes, you did. As always, your contributions are helpful and enhance all the threads you participate in.
I did some more digging around on their website and found they offer a 235/17.5 super single 18ply. Says they are available on Diamond C goosenecks.
They do not specify a weight rating, but I looked up Salun brand and they were 6005lbs each as a single.
Not sure why salesman didn’t know....

Trailer manufacturers can and do cut corners. I bought a 7K LoadTrail car hauler style trailer in 2004. The tires were properly rated for the GVW but after owning it a while I noticed the hitch had a 5K coupler. I never really worried about it, but it was just one of those things that makes you go hmmmmm. It does pay to check everything thoroughly.

I think I found Michelin makes a similarly speced tire. Quite spendy.

You can lead a horse to water, but...Just like the links I keep posting, if you don't read them....Diamond C's web site has the trailer configurator, when you click on all your build options it will show exactly what tires and axles it is built with, the information is there.

Oh well, I guess I will have to do it all and do the salesmans work for him:laughing:
I will get to the bottom of this. I have a feeling the price is about to increase to a point where I can’t afford it.

You are not reading the link!!! It is for the DOD trailer. Go through and read all 4 configurators, (general, features, loading options and tires and wheels) I tell you the info is there!! Gosh, I can't believe this

Maybe it does, but the fact that a certified Diamond C dealer dont/wont ALLOW me to buy a trailer with proper tires isnt making the process very easy!
I mean youre the one who was saying my 38k gooseneck had 10” risers :ashamed: :laughing:, so dont get too preachy:laughing:

Why wouldn’t you use your GN for pallets and bales. You can’t dump either one can you?

You can dump round bales, I've rolled them off of our little landscape trailer in the past, no reason why you shouldn't be able to dump them if you want to.

I have a friend's 7K landscape trailer with removable ramps sitting in the yard and it only has a 5k coupler on it. Really makes you wonder.
