Tough search....
Must be 500 7 foot wide trailers for every ONE 8 foot wide trailer.....:irked:

Yes, they are rare. This area is dump trailer/truck city and I have only seen about 2 deck overs. We have about a dozen rock, gravel and cinder pits here so the dump truck/trailer business is huge. Not to mention green waste, trash and concrete/black top demolition.

I hauled 18 loads in 8 days, all cinders. I did a fuel mileage check for 3 consecutive days, same loads and haul and got 13.1 mpg, with my '01 Dodge, this is loaded to 26k and 15k empty.

Wonder why? I know they are a little more top heavy, but the 8 foot width is a no-brainer for me to carry 4’ wide bales.
What (Dodge) rig and trailer do you have that is 15k empty?

'01 2500 4x4, 6spd w/ PJ dump, 7'x16'x3', 22k gvw.

This was an "opps" load, new operator, I asked for 6 ton and got 8.4 ton, note tare weight 15,280 lbs.

Love the area in which you live. Really like Southern Utah, too. Greenest prettiest hay Ive ever seen.
Heres a slightly overloaded ooops situation for me....

Net is my actual truck and trailer empty weight.

Thanks, I am at home here. I transplanted from Montana in '77. Nice load! I would like to see a picture of it. I assume that is your 5500/Kaufman?

The picture of my F-350 with the rough terrain fork lift and ford pickup on a towbar behind it went 41K, the IH S10 skidder is 39k. The load of cattle guards in my avitar is 29k.

I did the Cummins conversion in 1990 and the paint/bed upgrade in '94. Cummins w/Pac Brake, 5 spd main, 3spd aux, 76 Dodge motorhome front leaf spring axle, D-70 HD 10K rear axle, air maxi brake, air horns, air ride seats, ect.

NO horn just get the on board air kit............Viair Constant Duty Onboard Air System

If you look at the engine picture, you can see the gear drive Holset air compressor on my Ford.

Hay Dude, not trying to be "negative Nancy" but looking at that load of hay, it would appear to be too wide to re-latch your drop down side on the deckover dump. It would also appear to have way too much force against the front bulkhead and tailgate without the side wall support.
