Building an 8遅16 gooseneck dump trailer

Saw a Lamar tandem dump today. It looked good. 7ga floor. Paint looked way better than my Kaufman. Really getting the itch to make a deal.
Wonder if I could get a tandem 9k rated at 20k GVWR built?
10k duals are out because of folding sides.

Was that Lamar a deck over? I don't see them on the Lamar web site.

I would just go with 10k's they are more popular and probably cheaper.

It was a low pro, not a deck over.
How can I go with 10ks if sides wont fold down? I don?t know if theres a 10k single tire

Go talk with a Load Trail Trailer dealer and see what they can come up with......

235/75x17.5, 18 ply super single are rated for 6k lbs each. That is what is on my PJ 22k dump.

Re: Building an 8 to 16 foot gooseneck dump trailer

Go with the 17.5's, common here on 10K axles, although they sometimes look strange since the 10k axles can be narrower.

The one trailer I have with 10k axles and duals would be able to handle fold down sides on a 102" trailer, the tires are about 4in inside the outer edge of the 96" deck.

Can I see pictures of what your trailer looks like? I have yet to see a dual wheel trailer with folding sides.

8’ wide inside? Folding sides? Can you post a picture?

Re: Building an 8 to 16 foot gooseneck dump trailer

Its only an equipment trailer, but it has plenty of space to fit a fold down side. This is only a 96" wide deck. 1322560031.jpeg

If you look at the engine picture, you can see the gear drive Holset air compressor on my Ford.

Hay Dude, not trying to be "negative Nancy" but looking at that load of hay, it would appear to be too wide to re-latch your drop down side on the deckover dump. It would also appear to have way too much force against the front bulkhead and tailgate without the side wall support.

What engine picture?

No, not deck over, standard low pro. I just mentioned it because it has the 10k axles with singles.
