Congrats TripleR on the new tractor I hope it makes your life more comfortable....

Thanks bucktaker, I was going to send you a PM. I used the loader yesterday and it pretty much performs like the 853, maybe a tad stronger, but in full dump it won't push the tractor back, but as mentioned by someone else, at about a 90 degree angle down, it will push the tractor back.

Congrats on the new tractor! It looks like a fine machine.

Are you tires set wide or have wheel extenders? Can't tell from the pic.

Thanks, I kind of miss the L5030 as it was a really good machine with only 1300 hours, but I was having a little trouble using it. My tractors look like nursing home tractors. I use a cane to put in 4WD and have a strap on it to pull up to get it out of 4WD. I need to keep one of those "grabby things" to pick my keys up if I drop them and use an RV step to get to the first step.

I used it yesterday and can sure understand parking an open station. I burned my hands just touching the door handles and grab rails, it is brutal out there; hopefully the temps will moderate and you can get back in the seat.

I had the set out as far as they would go. On the GL or at least the ones I have seen with Industrial tires, they have a detachable center which can be flipped and and bolted to the outside of the outer wheel which can also be flipped giving you a variety of combinations. With our hills, I want it as wide as possible and on some of them, I just park the GL and use the M8540 as it is a bit more stable on slopes or at least it feels that way. I don't know that I will ever be completely comfortable mowing slopes.

Thanks; sure wish I was good enough of a mechanic and fabricator to fix mine up more like yours.:licking:

Well to tell the truth, if I can do it anyone can do it. You got the Tractor so get to it

We have a pretty well equipped shop out at one of our farms and my brother is retiring next year, so we may do some modifications then.

TEXASJOHN has in his signature something to the effect of, "Joy is having the tools you need and needing the tools you have." It has been so hot and dry here for so long, I have absolutely nothing to do with our new tractor.:(

I got a few hours in Saturday until my tree cutter, grand daughter's boyfriend, got so hot we sent him home and he is even use to working in the heat, it was 107 with no breeze. I cleared the trees out then went looking around the farm for something to do; nothing, absolutely nothing.

The heat has broken and while still dry. I should be able to scare something up.

Not to worry, I took it as friendly kidding around and encouraging.

Glad I'm not the only one, I have kidded with my wife that our tractor is just a REALLY expensive RUV as I will leave the Rhino and Grizzly parked in weather extremes and hop in the tractor. As I get older, I have liberalized the interpretation of "extremes".

We got just a touch of rain last night; hope you did as well.

Be safe working out in the heat.
